I'm 30 years old, already 69 kilograms with a height of 5feet 4inches.I am a student with one kid.
Recently I have been putting on weight although my calorie intake is restricted to 1500/day ( well there have been some exceptions on those home parties). I don't drink/smoke. I have cut out sugar from my food. Still I am putting on weight. As I can't manage time to go to the gym, I walk about 20 mins/day. My university work is a lot on the PC and the rest of the time at home, have to manage my kid.
Why I am still putting on weight? And how to get rid of it. Personally I am always stressed about managing my home & work. And sometimes I become hypoglycemic if I try too hard on dieting ( not sure whether I have diabetes as both of my parents have it), I can't stand 4 hour break in eating, then start to feel fainting.
Is stress is a main factor is sustaining the weight? I need help as I get scared when I see myself in the mirror.

Yes, stress is a big factor. Our body has a natural tendency to store some supplies "just in case" when you're stressed out. Restricting your diet any further is unlikely to help you. Reduce stress. Exersise is good. Not only it burns calories, it helps you to relieve stress. 20 min of walking is actually very little exersise. Try to get more activity in your life by taking stairs instead of using elevator, "overlooking" the nearest parking spot and going for the one at the very end of the parking lot. Play active games with your kid if he/she is old enough instead of letting him/her watch TV. In other words, look for opportunities in your everyday life.
Also, make sure you eat more during the day and less in the evening. It is a common mistake that people tend to make - they feel more energetic in the morning, they don't eat much, end up running on fumes. That gets them exhausted and they have no other choise but reach for food in order to finish their day. We have a saying: "Eat your breakfast yourself. Give a half of your luch to a friend. Give your whole dinner to an enemy."

Stress is the reason you are putting on weight. Our bodies react to stress by sending hormones out into our system. These hormones are not meant to be constanly flowing or you gain weight, get angry fast, and never seem to get anything done. So what you need to do is make a list of priorities, and then the rest has to wait. You need to make you time with your child stress free, that means No TV. Maybe it would be to read a book take a walk or just be silly. If you don't do something for fun you will crack, and your not going to be good for anything and everything will suffer
Good luck!!! Let go alittle and everything will work out, and DON"T forget to ask for help every once in a while

it sounds like you are still not exercising enough because you are at the computer all day or at home.
feeling hypoglycemic might be another thing... it might mean that you are under-eating, so your body gets hungry and turns your muscles into fat. also, when you are eating, make sure it's not only healthy or lower in calories, but full of protein too. make sure your biggest meal of the day is breakfast so that you will have energy to work hard without being tired throughout the day.
with your stress, make sure you get a good amount of sleep every night so that when you are at work, you won't be too stressed out because you will be able to concentrate more and be more efficient at work.
i think the key is to make your life as "balanced" as possible especially when you are put into a position where life gives you a bunch of twists and turns.

With both parents having Diabetes, you need to be tested as soon as possible.
And unless you are making all your food from scratch, you aren't cutting out the hidden sugars.
Corn syrup is in almost everything now days.
Increased stress will not result in weight gain unless you are eating more and not exercising.
But it will accelerate a underlying insulin problem.

personally, i have not found a better diet than eating healthy, when i am hungry and just letting my body regualte itself. diets usually only make you more hungry from time to time, and once your body goes into starvation mode, extra fat is stored because your brain is saying that it will need this fat to survive. maybe you could try to eat very healthy meals, like oatmeal, fruits, veggies, and nuts; it is proven that people that eat larger amounts of food, all that are healthy, weigh less. carbohydrates may have higher caloric intakes, but they keep you full so that you are not tempted to eat that snack.
hope i helped =]
