yeah.. so i've lost 9.6 lbs in 15 days. would you say that is significant progress? my goal is to lose 47.6, taking me from 177.6 to a happy, healthy 130.

Since you've shed those pounds so quickly, and since they are the first you've shed, they're probably mostly water-weight. (Notice I said "mostly".) However, you've still lost those 9.6 lbs at an amazing rate, and if you keep up with the routine you've created for yourself (hopefully of a healthy diet and much cardio exercise), you should see remarkable progress in the months to come. :) Good luck!

healthy weight loss(the kind that stays) is one pound a week and no more then 3! If you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off you got to do it for real(which takes time and a life style change) and not the quick and easy solutions...trust me i have been there so many times and you have to watch out cause lots of diets have a back lash-yeah you lose 20lbs in two weeks but it doesn't tell you that a month down the road you gain 40 because of your body compensating for the time you spent on the diet! so look out and do it healthy!!

Dear, sorry to disappointed you but generally, the first 10 pounds of weight loss is water, not body---especially in such a short time. Try a workout plan and healthy eating habits. It takes time, effort, and hard work for wt loss and to maintain.

However, I do applaud you on your attempt for a healthy life style.

That's mostly water weight, unless you're starving. You should slow down to a couple of pounds a week for healthy weight loss, or it will come back on quickly.
