Dear thelordscomfortsr,
First i think it is really important to know the security of your salvation- so that the focus of your life as a Christian is living for God- instead of wondering whether you are saved or not. Most certainly struggles with sin can cause us to doubt our own salvation. i am greatly encouraged by your heart to want to change some things that you know is displeasing to the Lord- and i think that is something that comes from the Holy Spirit.
The Bible teaches us that self-control is one of the fruits of the Spirit. And i think that anger and lust are quite common temptations that everyone struggles with. One thing that you have to know is that self-control comes from a relationship with the Holy Spirit. i think that it is really key to ask God for help and realizing that sin can not be overcome by our own strength- but God will help us.
Over the last several years i've had people that i've trusted betray me and steal money from me, etc. and these are not easy issues to forgive and it took a lot of prayer and i think God helped me to forgive some situations that were pretty hard to forgive.
i would also suggest talking to others in your church and particularly spiritual leaders in your church and hopefully you can surround yourself with people who will pray and encourage you.
Hope that helps. Kindly,
Nickster
P.S.: In terms of TV maybe you can replace it with other things- like come on Yahoo answers and answer questions to help people. Or read some books, exercise, etc.

live pure
The purpose of this is an overall guidline of how to live in a pure way. Meaning living honestly. Honesty is the basis for truth. The motive of this is to interpret the truth.
# The first step is to look inwardly. Even the pyramids had to be built from the ground up, with a strong base.
# Ask yourself, "Who am I?" "What are my motives, desires, how can I interpret these?"
# Think honestly and think about every aspect of yourself.
# Once you have begun the journey to awareness you will know it! Honestly, it's like when you go fishing and you catch seaweed but you thought you had a fish, and someone turns over and says, "Trust me, if you get one, you'll know."
# There is no mistaking progress. You will begin to view the world more clearly and will be able to take a more enlightened approach to situations.
# Take each situation as a lesson, do not let anything escape from question.
* The key to knowledge is finding the right questions.
lol I wrote this for a online how to guide

No. I think the pure in heart can be many people who are not even Christian. Becoming a Christian is only a first step. You are expected to grow into Christ, into love. Purity of heart means someone who does not have it in their nature to harm anyone and can not even imagine it. They are often hurt by evil people more than the rest, because they are trusting and expect the best of everyone.

You are automatically saved when you confess your sins according to 1 John 1:9 and Psalm 51 is another good one,by asking the Lord to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life,he wii automatically come in ,then from there you have to renew your mind with his word ,we all have emotions that get out of hand ask the Lord to help you get rid of them ask the holyspirit to control your attitude, when we accept Jesus things dont go away overnight he takes us as we are to make us better its a daily walk and all he needs is someone willing to work on them selves, self examination will be a start and asking God to remove all defects and shortcomings, create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you, dont beat up on your self I am doing a series of topics in my group concerning a pure heart if you are intrested go to my 360 and hit llisadrew under my groups be blessed Lisa

There is a place you can get to in God that will give you temerance and understang. After salvation we must pray and ask God to help us seperate from sin. This sanctification process (seperation) happens when you do your part through prayer and study and then allo God to santify you whooly. This takes away habitual sin and gives you access to A closer walk with God that then gives you patience and the ability to overcome in all situations.

"Pure in heart" isn't the concept you need, but anger management is. I decided when I was a kid that getting angry was a bad idea, and worth avoiding, and I have almost never done so since. I suppose that it is like quitting smoking: you have to decide to do it, and then do so.

Your right your not saved....and your as easy to spot as an elephant on a bus! I do not think the majority of christians behave the way you do....You need to take responsibility for your own life and actions! Not wait for some pie in the sky god to come and rescue you!
You are in serious need of help from a Psychiatrist not a priest!

Don't be ashamed of who you are. You're trying hard to change, and it may take a while.
Remember its not how many times you fall down, its how many times you get up. To err is human. To forgive, divine. Remember God not only wants you to forgive others, but to forgive yourself too.

Not a christian, but to become pure in heart, you must not think evil thoughts. Don't lie, don't steal, be honest with everyone you meet. If you see someone that needs help, help them. TO become pure in heart you must control your temper.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Hebrews 11:27:
By faith he(Moses) forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as SEEING HIM WHO IS INVISIBLE (GOD).
