Inside that circle are a billion planets. Amongst those planets could easily be thousands, if not millions, of intelligent lifeforms.

Now move your hand two inches up. Millions of more life forms. Do this again and again, all night long until you've covered the entire sky. Now, go round to the other side of the world and do it again. How many trillions of life forms did you count?

Humans have the arrogance to believe that in this unimaginably large universe, we were somehow created extra special on this planet by some almighty being, and that we must wait and wait for this being to reveal why we are the one species amongst trillions worthy of it's attention.

Not only that, but we must spend our paltry insignificant lives on this tiny spec of a world in a constant state of worship in order to receive some sort of "reward" we are too "sinful" to otherwise receive.

One must wonder if the quadrillions of other life forms in the universe must go through this nonsense?

It's laughable.

It is truly a shame that after all of the progress we have made as a human race, we still have so many who'd rather stay "in the box", if you will. It seems that the evolving technological advancement, proof of evidence, and freedom of speech, can only bring fact to the surface. Teaching theory and fact is another project in itself.

The anomalies of the universe are being discussed and studied everywhere, and yet WE are off our rockers according to many religious points of view. Bottom line, people will stay "in the box" for fear of losing ground and losing their sense of being.

Me, I know there is more in this universe mainly because NO ONE has shown proof that there isn't!

Have you read any of the newer science fiction that's come out in the last 5 years, especially short stories?

The new trend is not that there are other life forms out that that we have to find, convert or fight, but that there are literally NO other life forms out there, and that the idea of us terraforming and colonizing is an utter failure.

Interesting twist.

So if I go outside, make that circle, and look at the stars, I could also very well be seeing not a single other life form on any planet out there. Just a series of empty planets.

i think of the Irish Wolfhound sounds suited for you.. the massive "fluffy" canines, are unlikely to be effortless to maintain in florida.. large dane's and english mastiff the two have dominant personalities.. and on an identical time as nonetheless trainable, given which you already reported it.. be weary of that.. i could sidestep them.. IW's are my well known (so i'm biased).. they're extra goofball then the rest.. They do could run, yet once you have a fenced in backyard, and a canine park.. you're able to be good there.. in simple terms get them available.. in the event that they do no longer run by utilising themselves play "fetch".. interior the living house they have a tendency to be super settee potatoes.. their length does make human beings do a double take.. so they do help with secure practices slightly.. they're sight hounds, so make optimistic they're being monitored. (and whether they're knowledgeable to come again whilst observed as, do on no account enable them to run loose in an risky section.. as their brains in reality turn off whilst the prey force kicks on) different Possiblilities: Anatolian Sheperds super Schnauzers Bouvier Des Flandes (spelling?) First off we don't know for sure if there are other life forms beyond our solar systems. We do know scientifically that it is very probable. We do know scientifically that the vast majority of mankind are delusional. They worship imaginary beings based on fairy tales written by man himself. As a species we are at a stand still because of man's delusional mind. Millions upon millions have died in the name of the imaginary God. All because of the Bible. Which makes me wonder if the Bible is not man's first weapon of mass destruction.

Our solar system is kind of unique, actually. Most systems have 2 suns, making it a little too hot for life forms to exist. But I do think that out there in the universe, there could be many planets that have life on them. I think it'll be neat if one day we could find out for certain ^_^

I believe in reincarnation. We are put upon this earth to learn all we can about whatever we want to learn. Life is a learning experience. We can keep coming back as many times as we need to; to get to an enlightened self.

There is total speculation for you.

First off, there is NO PROOF that there are other life forms. You are laughable for claiming something that will never have proof...simply because it doesn't exist.

Secondly...a billion planets? Prove it.

What makes you think that you are so special that this life has been revealed to you? Your education is laughable as you sit there and believe everything that you have been taught in college. Essentially, you are claiming that your professors are infallible...

Hmmm, I think Christians often get harassed for following someone who was truly infallible.

Your post only further affirms all that I recognize as truth. You reject it based on the fact you don't want to see things the way they are. You choose to believe life began some miraculous way where the odds are stacked favorably against it...and there's no proof to back it up, yet you look at Christians who have truth and history on their side and call it nonsense.

Please, for the sake of the rest of the atheists on this board who give their opinions and still act civil...stop talking so you don't make them all look bad.

Yeah, I'm a Christian, and yeah, I said things that would be perceived as rude...go ahead and attempt to throw that in my face. I have seen you on this board attempt to rip Christianity to shreds. Congratulations on failing.

As an astronomer, I understand what you mean.

However as we have not yet identified any life of any complexity other than on earth, we really can't make any predicitions.

We haven't even discovered extra-terrestrial planets with viable conditions.

OK, now you do me a favor.
Go outside, where you can see all of your stars and planets and life forms.
Now jump on a space ship and bring them back so they Can teach us their beliefs and whether or not they're wasting their time on TOK like you.

Amazing, isn't it? With all the immensity of this universe, God knows you better than you know yourself... down to every hair on your head! That He loves each of us, dirt and all, just as we are. That He is waiting for you to simply accept His free gift... His son, Jesus Christ, so that through Him you can know and have a relationship with the living God who created it all! If you think this is all nonsense... you have no sense.
