Chakras are a core belief of yoga, and have been incorporated into many different new age practices. The chakra system was first developed in India in the middle ages. The word "chakra" is a sanskrit word meaning wheel.
The major chakras are located along the spinal column of the body and each is traditionally represented by a different color of the rainbow - starting with red at the bottom up to violet on the crown.
Each chakra location represents different emotions and feelings.
Ideally all the chakras should be balanced - open and spinning at a similar rate to each other. Most of us however have some chakras which are overactive and others that are closed down or underactive.
First Chakra: Root
Colour: Red
Governs survival instincts, physical functions, sense of groundedness
Signs of imbalance include constipation, obesity, leg or knee problems
Second Chakra: Sacral

Third Chakra: Solar Plexus
Colour: Yellow

Signs of imbalance include ulcers, digestive disorders, liver and gallbladder ailments, diabetes
Fourth Chakra: Heart
Colour: Green
Governs love, compassion, relationships

Fifth Chakra: Throat
Colour: Blue
Governs communication, creativity, self-expression
Signs of imbalance include sore throat, laryngitis, thyroid imbalance, respiratory and/or hearing problems
Sixth Chakra: Brow
Colour: Indigo
Governs intuition, thought, psychic awareness, dreams, visions
Signs of imbalance include headaches, problems with the nervous system
Seventh Chakra: Crown

Signs of imbalance include confusion, depression, inability to learn
Love & Blessings

Yes. We all have a third eye. Some are atrophied from lack of use. I do know that during menopause and after, a woman can direct her hot flashes to the third eye and it will burn off the calcium that has hardened around it. Starts to work a lot better when it's flexible. The more you use it the stronger and more flexible it becomes, like when you exercise your muscles. That's quite a dream you had. It's good you're open to your dreams for they tell us so much.

Interesting question.
I believe do believe in a third eye, in terms of there being a gateway to spiritual consciousness. It's hard to answer your second question though, as I don't know what you mean by 'your psychic self' or 'dream realm'. Both are pretty ambiguous terms if you ask me... if you're interested in related subject matter though, I would recommend the book entitled, 'DMT: The Spirit Molecule' by Dr. Rick Strassman.

dreams ?
Seems fairly true that the dream-state allows more ease of access to knowledge unattainable in the waking state (for most people)
I would certainly pay attention to any 'message' perceived in a dream.
Symbols, metaphors, labels .... all have interpretation 'issues' which may or may not "travel-well" in the process of communication tho. Unless people have an agreed upon "reality" (and how *this* occcurs is somewhat skechy) a lot of misunderstanding can happen.
what do you suppose would separate "your psychic self" from "your self" ?

What do you think?
My earliest exposure to Buddhism was "The Third Eye" Written by a British man named Cyril Hoskin (1910-1981) who claimed that his body was occupied by the spirit of a Tibetan monk named Tuesday Lobsang Rampa.

The eyes are the receptors/interpreters for reflected light of a limited spectrum. With the eyes we are only capable of perceiving light reflected limited spectrum objects. The so-called third eye represents a receptor area for absorption and transmission of light and electromagnetic spectra not interpreted by the eyes. Dreams are our otherwise limited perceptions of 'reality' turned inside-out and upside-down. The mirror reflection of oneself represents your pursuit for self-awareness and enlightenment.
Revealing dream.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but to me your dream means this. It is a warning to you that Satan's spirit is in you the triangle means it is of Satan and he is the all seeing eye at the top of the pyramid this spirit entwined into your soul allows him to be omnipresent in your life meaning through that spirit he sees and knows all. Have you ever played any occult games or practices? I could be wrong of course. Also Satan's spirit may have been entwined into mans soul at the fall of man in the beginning the spirit of sin/lawlessness. Anyway it is food for thought. If you have very strung dreams and spiritual activity at night write it down and get on this forum and talk about it.
