its healthy to lose 1-2lbs a week - if you lose more than that its not fat you are losing - its just water weight and muscle which means you are also slowing down your metabolism and will end up having higher body fat percentage.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I hate to tell you, but that's an awfully steep goal. I'd be willing to bet that the extra 50lbs didn't come on in just a little over a month, right? Its unreasonable, and you'll set yourself up for disappointment.
Healthy weight loss is 1-2lbs a week. You can certainly be at a much healthier weight by the beginning of August, but you need to start out with baby steps. Drink lots of water, eat a healthy diet (fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole grains), and stay active. You don't have to spend money on a gym to stay active. Just go for a walk, ride a bike, rent some aerobics DVDs even! 30 minutes a day, at least 3 times a week.

Summer is right around the corner! Here are six strategies that can help you lose weight--and keep it off.
1. Consider the buddy system. Some people do better if they have a friend, spouse, therapist, someone they can talk to about successes or setbacks. Ideally, this person is nonjudgmental and unconditionally supportive. If you thrive with a little help from your friends, go ahead and ask for their help and guidance.
2. Slow your eating. Taste your food. Savor the texture. Put your fork down between every two bites and sip water during your meal.
3. Keep sugarless gum always on hand. Sugarless gum can give you a hit of something sweet, keep your mouth busy (so you'll be less likely to snack), and clean your teeth when you can't brush.
4. Shock your tongue. Be liberal with spices-chile peppers, curry, hot salsa, wasabi. Hot and spicy flavors encourage slower eating. Hot (temperature-wise), low-calorie beverages can also help you feel satisfied and hydrated. When you're bored, it's possible to nurse a hot cup of skim latte, green or herbal tea, or diet hot cocoa for much longer than it would take to eat a snack.
5. Get enough sleep. During sleep, our bodies rest and regenerate, so we can be strong and clear-headed the following day-clear-headed enough to make wise food choices. What's more, sleep deprivation causes an imbalance in certain hormones, including ghrelin (which causes weight gain) and leptin (which decreases appetite). When we don't get enough sleep, our levels of ghrelin go up (more weight gain) and levels of leptin go down (so we are hungrier). Don't think of it as downtime, but as another important facet of your nutrition plan.
6. Donate your "fat clothes." Losing weight is a major accomplishment. As soon as an item of clothing is too big for you anymore, give it away. Don't keep it in your closet as part of your "just in case" wardrobe. It is easier to back-slide if you have bigger pants to slide into.

finding a healthy routine and sticking to it is key.
i'm currently on a goal to lose 15 pounds myself (i know that seems like so little) and it's tough!!
i'm doing south beach which is a modified low carb diet-i really like it and it works well with my lifestyle.
eating healthy and exercising is most important. i avoid sugar foods (only eat sugar free stuff mostly) and eating nothing fried, breaded,or starchy (potatoes)
for exercise-make sure it's at least 30 mins a day and an acitivity you enjoy or else you'll stop doing it. i love to swim to i do 20 laps in my apt pool every morning (i live in az so by afternoon the pool was is like 90 degrees!!) and in the afternoon i use my stability ball.
so far i've lost 2 pounds this week!!
there are a ton of fun ways to exercise
-rollerblading/roller skates
-ice skating
-brisk walking/jogging
-hiking
-playing basketball,baseball,etc
-workout tapes
-stability ball (i love mine)
-swimming
finding the routine that works best for you will get you the fastest results.
also-throw out all sugared/high fat stuff in your house
-cookies
-candy
-chocolate
-potato chips
this will help keep you from eating them when you're having your cravings!!
good luck!!

Well my older sister just went on power walks every day for like 2 months and lost at least 30. Then there is always eating healthier. I've lost 20 pounds before by just eating less junk. So it may be hard, but it's worth it.

-thats a lot of weight in little time. Running around a track might help. I would also minimize your sweets and carbs. Eat more protein and generally smaller portions. If you are gonna eat carbs, eat them in the morning, so you have the entire day to burn them off. Be patient and be healthy! Good Luck!

To successfully lose weight, you must carry out
a plan to balance your caloric intake with exercise.
Ideally, dieting should be done by eating a nutritionally
balanced, low-calorie diet and increasing physical activity.
