So there is this guy. ive known him since i was 5, im 16 now and hes 17. we didnt talk for 6 years because i moved. but then because of a wonderful think called myspace we started talking again about a month ago. we havent hung out yet but we are planning on it. i like him and he likes me back, but he still has a gf. i know he wants to hook up, but i wont do anything sexual, just make out. my question is whether it is okay that we are hanging out even without hooking up.

if he has a girlfriend, and he's okay withing "hooking up", regardless of the fact that you're not going to have sex, it still doesnt show good character. think about it...if this hook-up turns into something more, what makes you think he wont "hook-up" with some other girl while he's going out with you?
if you're just hanging out for the sake of hanging out and you dont end up doing anything, even making out, then its cool. but any other scenario....i really dont think its a good idea.
also....even though you may be hanging out without hooking up, you guys have still established that you like each other and so it kind of changes the intent of everything, doesnt it?
just put yourself in her position and think for a bit.

yes its ok to hang out with an old friend but if he has a gf dont be a homewrecker...one word on that issue: KARMA and she is a b*tch to deal with

It is better that his girlfirend knows you so that complication will be avoided. Remember he is still committed. And you wouldn't do like that if you have a boyfriend, right?
