We were acquaintances for a couple of years...saw eachother out a couple weekends ago, flirted a lot, ate out with friends. He called the next day to say hi and we decided we were too tired to hang out, he told me to call him. He calls the next weekend really late...i call back just out of curiousity...he wanted to see me and was upset bc i didnt call him. He comes to where im at...his friend ends up grabbing me...the guy i like apologizes for him and they get in a fist fight. We go to his house and just lay in bed and talk until we fall asleep, nothing happens. We were supposed to meet tonight to go to the mosque...we are both muslim (im american)...bc we are trying to get back into religion...we talked the other day for 30 minutes and he said he would see me today. I called and he didnt answer. He didnt call back and wasnt at the mosque. The other day after we talked for 30 minutes i later sent him a text saying "i cant sleep"...was it bc of this that he didnt answer today??

We were really affectionate at the beginning and then i kind of told him to stop bc it seemed he was just a player. That is when we started hanging out more...he kept saying he wanted to change and be a better person and stop partying so much and i said the same so we were supposed to help eachother. Why is he avoiding me now?

Maybe he was frightened off by you telling him not to touch you? Or maybe he was caught up in something unexpected and couldn't answer his phone?
I would advise you to just call a couple more times, and if he doesn't answer, then to leave it until he calls you.
maybe if you have mutual friends you could ask them about it, what happened that night?

Maybe he sees you as a "good girl" and he isn't really done being a player. Especially since you are trying to be more devout in your religion. But in a way, he is probably attracted to that. I say just let him have his space. He knows where you are and how to reach you if he has any desire to get serious.

Guys will tell you anything to get you into bed. They will even pretend that they want to change. He is probably not being honest with you. I suggest that you call his bluff. Don't call him, let him call you. Wait to see if he his really going to change before you let yourself care about him or sleep with him. Guys can be very convincing when they want a girl to sleep with them. I'd give almost all of them an Academy Award when it comes to that!!!
