We walked into church together and before I knew it he was about 8 feet in front of me and I was following him into the church. I do not think a man should walk in front of a female, maybe with her, but not in front of her. I am so serious about this when we get out of the car, I walk off without him because I feel like he will walk in front of me and I think that is disrespectful and rude. Is it me? Do I have a hang up that is ridiculous? Should he slow down and walk along side me?
My father never walked in front of my mother and I have never had a man walk in front of me.

I have also been a battered wife over 20 yrs ago and had one of my front teeth knocked out. I have a large 1 inch scar below my right eye and was 7 months pregnant while all this occured. I strongly believe any female who thinks a man has any right to physically harm a woman has serious esteem issues.

That's a pet peeve of mine to, try saying something to him - he might not realize he's doing it/it bothers you.

I don't think he's meaning to be rude to you, but I do think there is a little love lost there. I have noticed with my hubby that when we are getting along great he walks beside me. When our relationship is strained, or just in a rut .... he walks ahead of me. I usually don't say anything to him, I just take it as a sign our relationship needs some work.

i think it was a bit rude of his part i think the same way as you do the man shows a woman respect and love by giving her the way to walk in front first or by her side ive been married for 10yrs now and my hubby always gives me the way first or is nxt to my side i think he shows a lot of respect and love to me just let him know of how you feel and see what he thinks about it maybe yous guys can resolve it together

ok, you are seriously being rediculous.
Maybe he didn't realize you weren't beside him...especially since you walked in together - did you get distracted by someone & he didn't notice?
FYI - In old days, men walked in front of women, even by a few steps, for protection from anything that might lay ahead...

but honestly maybe your short legs cant keep up, my husband walks faster than me, and hes always ahead i just tell him to slow down, i dont throw a tantrum

I agree, that behavior is kinda rude....However, maybe to him it isn't, maybe he doesn't realize it offends you? Try just telling him that if he wants to walk off without you, you just won't go anywhere with him anymore....
