Thank you all for your help. The problem is that my son doesn’t like to eat at all. Meal time is almost like a punishment to him. But avocados he likes!! So I don’t want to spoil the only thing he really likes…

It think it's fine. You don't need to worry about fat and cholesterol when feeding a child as young as 17 months old. Children that young have different dietary needs than adults. Could you imagine how fat everyone would be if we drank 3-4 glasses of whole milk a day on top of all the food we ate? I'd worry more if he was 13 y.o. and eating an avocado a day.

i think it's good for youre baby as long as you stick to 1 avocado a day.Since this food is very low in Cholesterol and Sodium. It is also a good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Folate. But i suggest you alternate feeding your baby avocado maybe 3 to 4 times a week cause avocados includes Saturated Fat, has a relatively high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fats, and contains carbohydrates, which may increase blood sugar levels.

If his weight is ok then why not? An avocado is not a very common food for a 17 month year old but so many times we find out that craving is due to something that is needed. I would try to vary his diet but would never say that he couldn't have his treat. Many best wishes with your child. Enjoy each moment.

Avocados have a lot of calories. If he's underweight, then you could probably allow him to have the better part of an avocado a day, but otherwise, it's not such a good idea.

There are 4 vitamins that are not water soluble and therefore if you eat too much of them you can cause organ damage. They are A, D, E and K. There is a considerate amount of vitamin E in avocados. Check chart in link below.

Avocado is fine, but probably not a whole one a day. They are full of (natural) fats, so at that age he might not need a lot of that.

Wow, your boy has good taste for a 17 month old. They say avocados have "good oil" like peanuts but you should eat it in moderation.

If he is a really picky eater and probably not getting a very high fat content so Avocados are very good they are one of the fattiest veggies but it is a good fat that is healthy and good for you.

I think that an avocado a day is too much grease for him. Avocado tends to have a LOT of fat in it...
