I love being in tassie,i left for a few yrs and have been back for almost 6.Best time here is summer as the other guy said,so from december to about march is a nice time. But it depends on what u want to do. Even though its winter and cold,there is still so much to do and see.Have a look at the discovertasmania.com.au website,good stuff

We are from South West Qld and went to Tassie last August and absolutely froze! I would not suggest any Nth Qlders head down there during this time. Still had a great time but it would have been a bit more comfortable with some warmer weather. So maybe try summer but it still could be cool for us Qlders.

Well if you don't like the cold then summer is for you The great thing about tassie is you can see it all when you come here for a holiday everywhere is within a days drive and its worth seeing it all You will love everything Hope you have a great holiday enjoy ( Ive been here 2 years )

G'day,
Depends. The obvious will be to come during summer time, since it is pretty still pretty cool and weather is also better.
However Tasmania's accommodation and airfare are much cheaper during winter time. So there's something to consider as well.

Tasmania is great at any time but if you don't like the cold, go in summer when it is too wet to do anything in north Queensland.
