Scam.

The poor writing is enough to give it away. There is no BOARD OF IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT CANADA. Canada is bilingual, and with Internet being international, they use terms that are straight to the point, like Immigration Canada. They never use Department. Third, why would they tell you that you are successful then refer you to a lawyer? If you WERE actually successful, they would deal with you and finalize it directly, there would be no need to contact a lawyer. FINALLY, I deal with several Canadian lawyers over the years at work. NOT ONCE, did they have an email that was @yahoo.ca. Lawyers can afford professional email. And anytime someone tries to conduct business with you from a generic free account like hotmail or yahoo you know it is spam and/or a scam.

Please forward the email you received Immigration Canada to alert them of the fact that there is a possible scam starting.

If you are a new immigrant to Canada or have applied for Canadian citizenship, they may have stolen your name and email address from their system, and as a result may have an effect on their privacy claims.

You can send a copy of the email with a note asking them if it is real to this email address from the Immigration Canada website:

site-suggestions@cic.gc.ca

I was looking for a better email address (like complaints@cic or something) but this is the best that is available. At least they may publish an important notice informing people of this scam.

I believe since 2005 all immigration consultants and lawyers must be accredited with Immigration Canada. You may be able to get the list if you search online.

Immigration Canada clearly states that their decisions are independently done and are not influenced by consultants nor immigration lawyers.

Immigration Canada has online test for whoever take it.
Whether you want to hire a lawyer, it is your decision.

I believe this is a job scam too.. I applied for this job and he sent me an email saying about an update and then I got a email saying I was approved. I was wondering if you received the same e-mails that I received. Thanks!
