SO ...

on three of my teeth i have noticed this sort of greyish colour forming around the gum and tooth. ive booked in for an appt with my dentist but thats not for another 3 wks since they're booked out. what do u think this is? should i be very concerned?

It sounds as though you have a good oral hygiene routine. However, you can brush and still miss areas of plaque. When plaque isn't removed from surfaces of the teeth, it will harden... known as tartar. Tartar can come in an array of colors. I've seen green and orange believe it or not! So.... run your fingernail over these spots that you're concerned about. Does it feel hard and rough? Is it on the tooth surface (as opposed to on the gum tissue)? If you answered yes, it's probably tartar. If that doesn't describe what you feel with your nail, then I'm not sure what else it could be. It doesn't sound like something that can't wait another 3 weeks though. I wouldn't worry :)

Could be a vitamin defficiency coming out in your mouth, if your not getting the propper foods and things your body needs to substain maximum health, you may start to notice signs of a lack of nutrition. You usually see this alot with pregnant women, the baby takes all the nutrtion from mom and she's left with little.

That's the only thing I could think of since you said your an avid teeth brusher and you take such good care of keeping your mouth clean. But it's like I said before: If your not eating right, all the tooth paste and mouth wash in the world won't save your teeth.

HELLO CLARISSA,
PROBABLY WHAT THIS IS IS HARD TARTAR.
IT SHOULD BE REMOVED BY THE DENTIST/HYGIENIST.
IT CANNOT BE BRUSHED OFF.
CONSISTENT FREQUENT FLOSSING ON A REGULAR BASIS WILL KEEP IT FROM FORMING AFTER YOU'VE HAD A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING.

It could be just a discoloration (stain) from something you eat or drink on a regular basis or it could be a cavity. Not to worry.
