In about 5 billion years or so the Sun will run out of fuel. When this happens the core will collapse and the outer layer will be temporarily blown off and it will expand. This expansion will stop somewhere around the orbit of the Earth. Rather or not it engulfs the Earth, it will certainly be the end of the Earth as we know it. Then the Sun will shrink down and cool leaving whatever is left of the Solar System in the dark.

I have thought about this question a lot.
Isaac Newton figured it would be around 2060 based on his studies of the bible. Just watched that documentary on PBS about 2 months ago.
I did my own little study and came up with the same conclusion except for one little detail.
From the time God entered a covenant with Abraham until Jesus came, 2067 years passed. By my reasonings, God is just and fair, therefore it stands to reason that God would give the new covenant approximately the same amount of time before Jesus comes again.
The only flaw in this reasoning that I have been able to come up with is the 'x' factor. Jesus said that unless God had shortened those days no flesh would survive. So the question isn't when but how much time does God shave off the final amount of time. That's the 'x' factor that no one can figure out. But I am sure that before the year 2067 there will be no more unbelievers in God and His word. Amen

It will be thrown into the lake of fire at the Great White Throne judgment.
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

As a planet? When the sun engulfs this solar system... you'd have to check the date. Google Solar System + end or something similar.

No one will ever know, really. Anything in the universe could happen at any time and bring our lives to an end.

If you would read the Bible you would know that nobody knows except the Father in heaven--not even Jesus Christ nor the angels.
