This bill will pave the way for an almost complete stop to both illegal and legal immigration. People generally don't immigrate from one third world country to another.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.., please don't look down on those immigrants belonging to the third world.., this world is for everyone.., we have all the rights to feel, to say what we feel, more so to live where we want to live...

Because it won't. This bill is not needed. Laws are already in place. Learn before you type.

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act Section 8 USC 1324

Title 8 Section 1324 of the U.S. Code.

Then we have guys like Bush signing HR1986 against the constitution. In it, it says that if you put any military on the border they do not have the power to arrest or detain, and they can only be there for 1 year -- strictly unconstitutional.

and bennets rider on HR2744 which lets churches off the hook for any illegal activity that illegals do - but you as a citizen are not exonerated.

Because that even if I agreed with 100% of the Bill(an earlier Amnesty bill was passed during the Regan Administration), we have laws to deal with illegal immigrants in the books and THEY ARE NOT BEING ENFORCED! Not when Border Patrol Agents doing their jobs are being imprisoned for assault(They shot a fleeing drug dealer caught sneaking over the border without papers).
What makes anyone here believe that these laws will be enforced any better?

Because it wont! I'm not conservative but i understand it wont. as long as there is no border enforcement this bill is almost a carbon copy of the 86 Amnesty the only difference is 12-20 million compared to 2 million. If you think for one second that 12-20 million people are going to return to their home countries and or pay a 4,000 dollar fine your smoking crack! This bill is flawed in so many ways that we can only hope it doesn't pass for ALL Americans. It will be the death of the middle class and invoke the next depression but this depression will be virtually impossible to recoup from.
Nice play on words though.....but theyll still keep coming.

True. However, until we reach the status of a third world country, estimates are that this bill will reduce illegal immigration by a wopping 18%. The potential for such stellar results leaves me absolutely breathless, totally awe inspired. What a caring, all knowing government we have to lead us poor ignorant masses.

Don't be ridiculous. Even the Dept OMB only estimates a 13% drop while it would double legal immigration and bring in entirely new categories of 'temporary' workers without visa exit tracking system, who will overstay.

OK, right... after we turn into a third world country they'll stop coming.....thank you so much.
