I did not think before to do a cross check of the other gospels but have since done so and Mark 1:30 and Luke 4:38 both say that it was peters mother .
I believe that Jesus does have a wife and was tryig to find out wether this verse could be used to how that he did

Ooohh! You're good! According to a certain family tree and history Jesus married and had children. I don't see why people have such a problem with this. Being married and having children won't make you less of a god. Why do people think it's a sin for god/Jesus to have sex. All was done within the Jewish tradition of marriage. Even the wine he made from water at his wedding. He wouldn't be bothered with it if it was anothers wedding. Peace and love.

It refers to Peter's mother-in-law. The scriptures state in several places that Peter was married and that his wife sometimes traveled with him when he preaching (See 1 Corinthians 7 where Paul talks about this).
In the Bible, Jesus himself states that he was not married. In Matthew chapter 19 he refers to himself as being a eunuch, or one was has foregone physical intimacy or marriage, in order to serve the kingdom of God. So it would have been difficult for it to have been his mother-in-law.

We all make spelling mistakes.
In this context it is grammatically referring to Peter the Apostle's Mother-in-Law. This is in total agreement with Paul's mention of Peter's wife in 1 Corinthians 9:5, where Cephas is used to refer to Peter.

it's Peter's mother in law. You must have a different version of the bible. My Knowing Jesus study bible states "When Jesus came into Peter's house. He saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in bed with a fever.

He's talking about Peter's mother in law, according to my bible's notes, so it would be Peter's wife.
