Okay, I went to the beach today, I put on sunscreen once and we left after about 4 hours, I got burnt on my face and shoulders, is there anyway for my sunburn to go away and heal faster?

I burn very easy and what works best is to just take a cool shower and put on some aloe vera after sun lotion or any really good moisturizer. Also drink lots of water becuse all that sun tends to dry you out.

cold water is the best first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap is ideal. never ice or vinegar or milk or butter or mustard or toothpaste or sunscreen.

13 hours later now so i would advise that you cover the burnt area with sterile paraffin wax or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent)

cover the burnt area in paraffin wax after cleaning. wash off and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.

paraffin creates a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain as it protects sensitised nerves. the paraffin imitates the natural oils secreted by the skin. skin cells are better able to multiply and regenerate with this treatment. pain is also helped. make sure you buy plenty of this paraffin - as the burn heals switch to aqueous cream bp. (aqueous cream has a bunch of paraffin in it plus some moisturisers - look out for stuff that also contains sorbolene or glycerine as these help also). following this regime definitely will help your sunburn heal faster and peel less. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids- this is a function of healthy skin.

so put aloe on the paraffin on over the top as long as there is no broken skin this works great. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin

It will go away after a day or two. As far as healing, get some aloe lotion or gel and put on the burned areas. It is a very good healer for burns and minor scrapes and helps relieve some of the pain. Make sure that the aloe you get is 100% aloe gel.

If you are looking to buy something look for a sunburn relief gel with Lidocane. It takes away the pain the best and usually helps heal quickly. um. Another good option is Vitamin E tablets. Find gel caps and break the caplets open and put the gel on your skin, it doesnt have the pain relieving effect but it really helps heal much faster. good luck.

Witch Hazel - any pharmacy will have it. Dab it on very liberally.

There's this other stuff, I forget what it's called, but it's blue and the consistency of hair-gel, and it contains aloe. My ex, a paramedic swears by it.

If you're in a pinch, if the pharmacy is closed and you need something right now, the sunscreen itself is rather soothing, but you'll need something from the above two paragraphs soon.

If it's really bad, there's this special burn cream that hospitals have - it's prescription only (but shouldn't be). No, I don't know the name. But anyone in the ER will know what it is, it's for first degree (sunburns) only.

im not sure if there is anything that will make it go away faster, but some things make it feel better
aloe vera makes it stop stinging...and to prevent pealing, dont scrub your sunburn when you shower
instead, use a soft soap and your hand instead of a washcloth...or you could use a body pouf instead of your hand
put lotion on it daily to prevent peeling...because nobody likes it when sunburn peels

Aloe is good but I've had very good luck using vinegar. I have fair skin and can fry fast in the sun. I just dab it on with a cotton ball. It takes the heat out and by the next morning I'm not as red. Use plenty of lotion also. The vinegar doesn't smell great but my Granny used it on us years ago. Good luck.

There is nothing to make it heal faster but to ease the pain, put the Aloe JELL in the fridge and use it. trust me. or, put ice cubes on ur sunburn. It is so cool! once my sunburn was so hott, it made the ice cube crack! lol
