As sad as this may sound, at this point in my life, I am doubting God so much and it really upsets me because so many christians around me are having such a great time and they talk about God so much and how He changed their lives, but i have nothing against that. What bothers me is i'm having such a hard time with God... and believing... I want to believe in God, and i believe that christianity is the way, but in the same time i'm having so little faith, and so much doubt. How is it that some people can find God so easily while others so difficult... it's so fustrating...

It's not sad... don't worry and don't blame yourself. You're under attack but that's Satan's game. Remember God doesn't change -- different times may be different, but He's still there for you anytime.

Take a step back to what you know. What do you know about God? About His character? About what He thinks and cares about? Does he find you valuable? Absolutely.

A little faith is all that's needed. Read some of God's word... the gospels always amaze me the way Jesus answers, responds, acts, and cares and loves the people He ministers to. Also to give you a good investigative look, consider reading Lee Strobel's book, "The Case for Christ". Read about the book on his web site or the actual book.

I would stay away from web sites that bash or promote any religion (Christianity or otherwise) right now while you seek to get your inner peace built up. Some information is going to be good and others is going to be 90% positive but enough lies to get you even more confused. Stick with the fundamentals.

And rely on some friends, parents, or someone at a church that you can trust to help you strengthen your inner peace and make sure you know you are cared for.

Don't ever forget you're valuable.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been struggling for the past couple years. sometimes Ive feel like I believe without a doubt, and others I feel like there's no possible way for him to exist. I know what a lot of people would say, that it is just Satan trying to manipulate how I feel and stuff, but sometimes I feel like I need a more definitive answer. not that I'm one of those "I need a sign" kind of people. but it's easy to feel like there's nothing out there when the only "proof" is other people's feelings and experiences.

I also want so badly to believe. I TRY to believe, but I know I need to except the fact that a lot of the time, I'm just doing what everyone expects me to.

I would suggest just taking some time on your own. pray and research in your own time. if you find that you do believe, than I'm happy for you, but if you realize that you just don't think it's true, than that is your decision, don't let anyone make you feel guilty for what you believe

Honestly, write down your feelings on paper.

Analyze your own questions. Play therapy with yourself.

What I found, is that after breaking away from Christianity, you're no better off. And now I sorta can't easily hop back in, because I doubt my sincerity and don't want to be an "opportunistic believer" who only wants to avoid hell and seek benefit from hope and only hope itself.

Maybe you are afraid of death, or are you afraid God doesn't exist? We live in a world, where you purchase an item from a store, you know the price ahead of time, and if it is a Publix, you have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee for if any reason you wish you hadn't bought it.

Life is so much different, and we as logical open minded people dont even know where to start on this one!

I encourage you to do some real searching. It's ok to have doubts and to struggle. Everybody needs to know why they believe what they do, and part of that is questioning what we've been taught. I would just encourage you not to "throw the baby out with the bath water." In other words, just because you may have doubts about religion, or certain things your church believes, doesn't mean that you can't find a faith that makes sense.

Well, Dreamland. From what I'm seeing you want God to DO something for you. Perhaps it's the WAY that you see God. Are you seeing God as a favor dispenser? Insert so many prayers and out comse your favor? Have you ever tried to just be friends with God? Just said "Hi god. How'se it going for you today?". Why not just try haveing a conversation with God? Don't ask for anything, don't offer thanks for anything, don't even go for just simple worship. Just have a conversation, just like you'd have with your realtives or a good friend. Tell God how your day went, how things during the day made you feel, be honest but be completely open about your feelings. When you're through, just sit back and be quiet, let God "speak to your spirit". Don't be expecting any revelations of anythng DEEP and profound. God rarely speaks to folks in that way. Most of the time God just puts reassuring thjoughts into our minds, little things that let us know that we have a purpose, the we're NOT alone in what and how we feel. When that's kind of winding donw, THEN tank God for the time taken to "converse" with you and, for listening to you jabber on about nothing. Thank God for the time spent with you and just leave it be at that. No need to ask for anything. God already KNOWS what you need (TRULY need, rather than what you want). Your NEEDS will beprovided for. They may NOT be what you WANT but they ARE what you need. Try it out. You have nothing to loise but yet, everything to gain from the expereince.

I would not put to much faith in what Christianity says to you. It is a GOOD thing that you are doubting what you are seeing in these religious people. The reason that the religious people can say that they have found God is because all they have to do is say a few verses.

The bible however states that it is not by one's effort or desire, it is only by God's mercy.

Before you start to envy what the religious people say that they have, look at Job again, or read Ecclesiastes. The one that wrote Ecclesiastes what constantly making mention of the fact that although he was the one that was doing what was asked of him by God, the religious were considered to be receiving the rewards.

It is written in Hebrews that Moses was willing to spend his life with the outcasts rather than enjoy what the relious people had for the short time that they have it.

God is willing to clear things up for people if they are willing to believe. Not believing that Christ died, because even the demons not only believe it they know it. But rather believing what he did and said. The religious people couldn't believe what he said. Therefore they killled him.

In this world Christians stick out like sore thumbs. And it's gonna get tougher. This chapter is coming to a close. That is why Jesus spoke of "He who endures shall be saved." The bible speaks of these things to come. And things that will pass. The best thing you can do is to "talk" to God. Pray. In sincerity and with an open heart speak to Him. And in Jesus name should you pray. Mary, Abraham, Paul, or a pope cannot give you these answers; only God in the name of His Son. Then have patience. Strength in faith doesn't come over night. Even Jesus' disciples had a hard time understanding and believing sometimes. And they seen Him walk on water, cast out demons and perform miracles. So pray, then listen and watch. And remember that we don't live in a perfect world, sister. But ones coming.
God bless

If you don’t believe in God then you must believe in an extremely long line of coincidences.

I don’t believe in coincidences that pile up to absurdity.

Is it a coincidence that civilization seems to have “sprung up” near the Mesopotamian delta around 6500 years ago? Is it also a coincidence that TWO direct descendants of Abraham went on to found the worlds two largest religions which are diametrically opposed? Is it a coincidence that 28 (14x2) (see Matt 1:17) generations from Christ we see Israel back in the land and the technology to facilitate Armageddon? Is it a coincidence that the world is pushing towards a one world government? Shall I continue all night with coincidences?

God is real, Jesus is our Savior and you can BANK on that!

your doubting him or in him is what making it so hard. thats why its so important to believe. you cant make anyone believe its something you and God is gonna have to do. but maybe you can try this, think of a blessing that happened, whether it was a bill getting paid and you had no idea how you was gonna do it or a job you got. everything good is from God and dont let no one persuade you any differently.

the people who seem to find God easily are faking it. You are having these doubts because God is calling you to look past what others do and decide what it is you need to do to come closer to him. It is frustrating. Have a little patience and an open mind and heart.
