I am 5'6" 19 year old male, which not tall by any means, but not super short either. I know that girls go for tall guys, and I don't see any problem at all with tall girls not wanting to go out w/ guys shorter than them, but my question is do girls that are my height or shorter still tend to not like guys my height? Would you much rather prefer a much taller guy over a slightly taller guy? TIA

i'm your height and i use to strictly date 6 feet tall or taller guys. now my boyfriend is 5'6. i never thought i would date a guy my height but he was so wonderful that it didn't really matter. i found that i really like a guy the same height as me because when we hug and kiss, there is no straining involved. we can always look each other in the eyes.
i don't think i'd go shorter than myself though. but for the most part, i would prefer a guy who treats me well. whether it's 5'6 or 6'6.

Sorry to interrupt - I know this question was directed to our better halfs, but I wanted to interject something into this conversation - for your consideration, if you please.
For what ever reason, since hollywood started making films, and there were "Leading Males", "Stars", and "Best Actors" these men have been over whelmingly "short" that is to say 5'-6" or less in height. Even today this is the case. I have no understanding of the reason why this is - but it's true - and in almost every film you see - the studio uses "devices" to make these vertically challenged actors as tall as or taller that their often taller-in-real-life leading ladies. Who for example? Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson, Tom Jones, Audie Murphy, James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Al Pacino, Clark Gable, and so on.

I wouldn't want anyone who is SUPER tall, but a little taller, like an inch to 6 inches taller than me so that I wouldn't have any problem talking to them. I'm 14 and 5'2", so If someone is about 6' I guess I could deal, but I'm more comfortable with someone who is just a tad taller than me.

It all depends on the lady..but my boyfriend is 5'6", and im 5'1", and although i joke around with him all the time abuot him being short..hes taller than I am, and it doesnt matter to me if hes an inch taller, or a foot...I like a guy to be taller, but I have no problem with how much taller. You'll find a girl who'll love ya..no matter how tall you are. :)

Yea Im more attracted to taller guys but its the personality that counts the most so as long as you got that the height nor appearance should be an issue unless your around shallow ppl then thats a whole different story....

Anyone who rejects you on the basis of your height is shallow and not worth pursuing. I admit that I am more attracted to taller men, but that is because I am tall myself. Most girls will be shorter than you, so it really shouldn't be much of an issue.

If two people click, height doesn't matter at all. People say they won't date short or they won't date super tall but then they meet the right person and that goes right out the window.

My husband is about two inches taller than me (he is 5'9") and it doesn't bother me that we are that close in height. When I was younger (high school aged) it might've bothered me...but that was b/c I was just being immature. I don't think it should matter that much if you really like the person.

my boyfriend is only an inch or so taller then me. i dont see why a girl wouldn't date you. and if she isn't going to date you cause your only 5'6" then she isn't worth your time
