And why are all the answers I get really bad or insulting me in some way?

If you don't want answers, why ask questions? This one, for instance. How would a Christian or a Jew know why we answer questions? You're basically asking us to answer this one.

And why don't you want us to answer? Don't want to hear an opinion that disagrees with your own? Well, sorry about that. This is still America, and I can answer whatever I want. I suggest that if it bothers you, go find a forum of people who will agree with everything you say.

Because there is nothing preventing us atheists from answering questions here. Also, we also have opinions on religion and feel entitled to answer questions in this section, even if we don't believe there is a God or gods.

You need to take a word of advice from this man: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnCoicnASVe85_wt.0VxBBxJxQt.?qid=20070626183051AA9UnJC

I answer here for a few basic reasons:

1 - I have the freedom to.
2 - I am pretty knowledgeable about religion and religious philosophy, even if I don't follow said philosophy myself.
3 - I feel I must combat ignorance and stupidity such as this.

I guess they answer questions here because this is an open forum and they have opinions and answers just like everyone else. If you would only like a certain sect of people answering your questions I suggest you visit a forum geared towards that particular belief system.

EDIT: I hardly think my answer is a bad one or an insulting one. Facts are facts.

This section is called Religion & Spirituality and it was never created only for people who believes in god.
What's the point of asking some question like "who likes god?" if there's only people that answers "I do"? It's just boring. Also, you can just leave if you can't deal with it. This site was created for everybody and anybody. If you can't get along then leave.

It's much more annoying to see people like you.

Atheism is the rejection of religion. That means it is ABOUT religion. So this is the place to talk about it. And this question gets asked like 50 times a day. Are you guys really that insecure that you can't take criticism?

I'm here answering questions addressed to atheists or about atheists to keep the misinformation down. I usually keep my nose out of questions about biblical interpretations, or other such questions.

Because they have knowledge or an opinion. You can't censor thoughts only words. FU*K CENSORSHIP!!

“Intelligence is the capacity to receive, decode and transmit information efficiently. Stupidity is blockage of this process at any point. Bigotry, ideologies etc. block the ability to receive; robotic reality-tunnels block the ability to decode or integrate new signals; censorship blocks transmission."
Robert Anton Wilson

i've got been attracted to religious ideals, mythology and technology on condition that i grow to be a new child(i'm now 60). I at times clarify how I got here from being a non secular Catholic to realising in mid-teenage that faith grow to be based upon no longer something yet itself, that technology defined nature satisfactorily without desiring supernatural beings, and that non secular ideals have been no distinctive to those of historical ideals in gods and goddesses. i attempt to respond to based on my awareness of scripture, theology, mythology and faith. and that i at times attempt to track non secular ideals, and Bible thoughts, decrease back to the quicker myths from which they derive. i think of I accomplish that in a impartial way an outstanding form of the time, in spite of the reality that i could show an opinion with regards to movements of a few non secular human beings or agencies that adversely impression freedom of determination and civil and human rights, such because of the fact the infamous Proposition 8 in California. Your connection with aggression may well be based on scripture which comprise "He that may no longer with me is against me" (Matthew 12:30 and Luke 11:23). That seems to teach believers that people who do no longer have faith as they do are no longer impartial yet enemies. no longer something could desire to be farther from the reality.

Too bad. We're not going anywhere. And if you add 'atheists don't answer' to your question, that's all you're going to get as a result.
