I live in a rural area and cannot get matzo meal or matzos to crush to make meal or anything remotely related. What can I use instead to make matzo balls for my soup?

Does it have to be kosher? If not, use crushed saltine crackers. And cut back on the salt a bit in the overall recipe.

try mashing saltines as though they were matzos and try making meal. I don't know if it will work, but that is my only thought other than either ordering online at from a kosher grocer or stocking up when you make it to the city.

You could use saltine crackers - salted or unsalted - which ever you prefer.

You could probably use regular bread crumbs -- just get some that are coarse.
