If you are sure you don't want Vista, then just get Windows XP Home Edition. Install it and then get the SP2 from Microsoft downloads. SP2 stands for Service Pack #2 (DON'T GET IT). Get the latest (if any) service packs available from Microsoft. Any later versions will include #2. If no later versions are available, then #2 is fine.
Service packs are for upgrading the original XP and can be downloaded for free from Microsoft.

SP2 means Service Pack 2 for Windows XP. It is good as it has more recent drivers and security updates

Service Pack 2 ... an add on to the original release. You can download it from Microsoft's site and install it yourself if it is not included with your version

good it just means service pack 2 which is an update to xp it fixes problems in sp1
