No I would not. It is way too vintage. If you really want to wear it, take it to a good dressmaker and have it updated. Remove the long sleeves and make them cap sleeves. Change the neckline a bit if possible to a more sweetheart neckline. Maybe a silk sash on the waist into a bow in back of dress. The headpiece has to go...it is not pretty I think. It is so 40's. Use the veil and train and update it with a beautiful new headpiece and you can really use this gown, but not the way it is not. It is too outdated.

I think the dress itself is pretty but I do not like the vail. I wouldn't personally wear it because i don't like the old fashion style, but if you do this is not bad. I think that it may look better if you cut the sleeves into a tank top shape, and I also think there are many other vintage dresses that may work and look even better than this one.

I think a modern take on it would be lovely. Maybe if you made it strapless and changed the veil so it was still a lace edged veil but it didn't stick up at the top it would look better. It is very old fashioned but if you like it go for it. I personally would choose something else.

I think it's lovely, similar to what my mom and aunties wore in the 1940s.
Would I? MIne was a lovely traditional dress of heavy bridal satin with long sleeves, lots of crystals, pearls, sequins and appliques, long cathedral train - but it had more of a classic flowing skirt from a basque waistline - I wouldn't have looked good with something that required a crinoline under like that one. I love the neckline and sleeves, though.

I would look terrible in it, but if you've got the figure, I think it's so retro it's come out the other end to become funky and cool.

Yes, if I'd had the figure and the right wedding, I might have worn it.

This photo was from an old 40's movie called "I Married A Witch." This is a very old-fashioned dress, since even in the movie she was playing someone from the colonial era.

I think this dress is absolutely beautiful. Any woman should be very proud to wear this dress.

It's kind of old fasioned looking, but very beautiful. However, it looks like it might get snarled on stuff! I would never wear it because I'm a guy!

Well, I like it. Very vintage romantic. I would probably just wear a simple veil piece.

It was beautiful and elegant in it's time, but you would not catch me in it. Too big for me!! I'd look like one of those knitted "Southern Belles" dolls that old people use to cover their loo rolls
