Well, maybe u dont want an Islamic point of view..
in Islam the flood was limited to one tribe or people for what they had done, they had a messenger and they kept and insisted on mocking him and disobeying God, yes God is mercifully and forgiving but when the person wants to be forgiven and wants mercy...
For He gave them a loophole (if u may) ..He lend them a hand but they just were too stubborn..
God punished certain people so they could be an example for those who disobey Him
Specially that Noah's people were the first of Idol worshiping, which is one of the biggest sins...

The god of the OT became a poor and jealous god who could f- you up in case you crossed him. His character saved changing, even with the undeniable fact that, noticeably after the Babylon Captivity whilst different gods have been banned (they have been welcome up till then) and the Hebrews stopped asserting any call for him (Elohim, Yahweh, Jehovah) calling him as a exchange Adonai - Lord. I in no way understood how he enjoyed advent yet then destroyed it. do no longer forget, even with the undeniable fact that, that a minimum of 3 'colleges' wrote the OT, and the flood became already interior the thoughts from Mesopotamia, which contain Gilgamesh, so somebody might have felt obliged to contain it later.. He in no way apologized, the two, Anna, even with the undeniable fact that he did go away the rainbow as a mark of the contract that he does not use water to wreck advent returned. Gen 9: 12-17

I have asked that question my entire life and to this day I still have not gotten an answer. I guess it is hard to answer a question asking why God didn't forgive and why he was so unforgiving he had to destroy the world. On a foot note to that, that is when Lucifer questioned God and when God kicked Lucifer out of the heavens and when all the Arch Angels were falling and the devil came to pass as all the Fallen Angels.

It wasn't just because of sin that God flooded the planet. That was the main thing, but it was man's unwillingness to repent. He is totally perfect, without any sin, and sin is repugnant to Him. He is always willing to forgive, but if YOU don't come to Him and ask for it, you aren't getting it.
At that time, according to the Bible, man was full of pride, sin, all kinds of human degradation, homosexuality, idolatry and not interested in repenting, even though God sent many of His people to deliver His message. Noah, even while building the ark continued to preach His word, telling what was GOING to happen if they didn't repent. They didn't and it did.
Let me try explaining it this way. You have a child in the kitchen who is, I don't know, breaking glasses for fun. Now you have told him to stop, you even sent in his older brother to tell him "If you don't quit, mom is going to come get you and you're going to be in big trouble". Yet he doesn't listen, even though you've given him many chances to. Eventually you have had enough, you go and spank his butt. You gave him several chances, yet in the end you did what you did because what he was doing WAS WRONG.

If you read the opening verses of Genesis chapter 6, you will find that there is more going on that just people sinning. It takes about the "sons of God" mating with the "daughter of man" and producing offspring that were "giants". This is believed to be a mating between fallen angels (demons) and humans. The results were genetically altered beings which were threatening to cause out of control disease, mutations, and deformities that would have caused the human race to become extinct.

The word used to describe Noah as a "pure" man refers to being physically pure rather than spiritually pure. It appears that Noah and his family may have been the only family left that was not carrying those deformed genes and that was following God.

So it was more than just a cleaning of "sin", it was also a cleaning of the genetic lineage of the human race. That is something which can not be "forgiven" like sin can.

It wasn't because of humans. It was really because of the perverted giant offspring of the Annunaki and humans. Humans were on their dinner menus. But, the earth experiences major cataclysms every so many thousand years, give or take a few. It's coming up again. Just as the sun stood still in Joshua's day it soon will again. The sun will again rise in the west. They knew the flood was coming and decided to rid the earth of the unwanted. Peace and love>

the way i understand it, when he flooded the earth the people were so bad and well BAD that noone believed in him anymore except noah and his family.

of course we are talking about the old testament god, the angry and vindictive god. i hate to say that, but it is true. he was a harsh god. and since god doesn't change, i imagine he still can be. but he is also a loving and caring god and we know this because he gave us his son.

i know it is hard to understand or believe, but that is why they call it faith. :-)

according to the bible it suggests if he did do something like that it would have to be really bad. what if you had 5 or 6 hitlers running around at the same time? it might be time to take care of it (or not)... i heard another theory that said it was mostly because of what happened in the first part of genesis 6. it states that angels mixed with man and it would have screwed the blood line up so it had to be destroyed for the betterment of mankind... if you look at the biblical timeline every now and then god does something to evil people personally. it's to bad he doesn't clean house in his church anymore...

You missed the best part; after the flood was over, God said he'd never flood the world again because he realized that humans were bad.

It was because humans had become tainted by demons, producing the Nephilim which were thought to be some kind of human/demon hybrids or something like that.

There might be more to it but I think that was a big part. Humans had become wicked and sinful under the influence of demons to the point where Gods plan totally went to pieces because of Satans interference.
