I believe that the earth is old—very old. It is thousands of years old—as many as six thousand, in fact.

At least 6,000 years, maybe millions or billions of years. The Bible doesn't clearly teach how long ago the earth was created by God. Any figure that someone gets from the Bible has to be regarded as subject to errors in interpretation. Adding up genealogies that may or may not be complete and figuring out if there was a gap of time between Genesis 1:1 & 1:2 are just two of the difficulties involved. Then there are Christians who hold degrees in physics and stuff who talk about the time relativity factor and how time may not have been moving at the same rate when the universe was first created as it now moves. Plus you have the fact that the book of Genesis was written in accomodating language where God revealed truths to finite human beings in terms that would hold meaning for them as opposed to giving them a scientific text book that would exceed their understanding.

Some scientists argue for a very young planet. The universe itself could be very young .I find it quite interesting that the earth is the only planet that harbors life in our solar system as far as we know. Evolution appears to be doing next to nothing on Mars and other planets in our solar system with its billions of years theories, while the earth is just teeming with all kinds of intelligent life because of special creation. The bible is correct. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1. Without God the earth would be without form and void of life just like MARS.

The earth is only as old as you are.

You know this earth is all a stage for your life, the rest of us are just actors in your life. Once you die, this stage will be torn down.

We can't wait for your curtain to come down, so we can go home.

IDK. I also feel that the age of the earth is totally irrelevant to religion. In the bible it says something about not trying to prove god to others, that god can handle his own problems. With that, I pose that the creation museum is in direct violation of god and his word. The museum is trying to prove god and he said not to. My point is, there are more important issues in life for us to get hung up on useless data. If all would pour that energy into something positive, something that is beneficial to mankind then maybe we could evolve into true spiritual, caring beings. Peace and love>

Besides, the earth is old enough to know better.

I doubt anyone will ever find the expiration date. So, don't worry about it. Six thousand years might just be the age for many organized religions and their pagan origins.
