wa alaikumus salaam,
There are differing opinions. If you perform your salaat, Allah Subhanahuwatala will accept it, be it on-time or late, insha'Allah.
But you should know that it is best to perform each salaat ON TIME, ASAP. If you delay your salaat, ask yourself this: Whatever it is that is interfering between you and your obligations with Allah Subhanahuwatala, is IT more important, or is Allah SWT more important? (If that were the case, then you are really committing shirk -- by giving something else eminence over Allah SWT. So please be careful!)
The urgency of salaat is paramount. It may be the case that you die before salaat time expires while you had intended to delay it.
If you are scared to perform it in public (or in some other scenario), know that you can even perform salaat by making gestures with your fingers.
(Method is as follows, while making a fist: Thumb straight up = qiyaam (standing); thumb bent = ruku; thumb clenched and touching your index finger = sajda.)
Know that Allah SWT is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful. InshAllah He will accept your prayer.
May Allah SWT make this easier for us all; for us to be expediant in salaat.
And Allah SWT knows best.

The time for Isha begins when the redness has left the sky and there is a whiteness. The time that the prayer is valid is from this time until true dawn to open the time of Fajr.
For example the whiteness is at 10pm and doesn't go until 3 am - within this time Isha can be prayed.
Its better to pray before midnight but its still valid until Fajr time.
Sorry to confuse people this is a question about the time of the final day prayer.

No, it is until the Fajar Prayer, or Subh Sadiq. Thats when the white light shows upon the horizon. In actualiy, the night is divided into three parts. The first is the preferred time for Isha, the second its still ok, and the third is the makruh time for Isha. Its makruh because its the preferred time for Tahajjud prayer.
In Chicago, my Fajr times is approx. 3:00. So from about midnight to 3:00, the last third of the night, its makruh for me to pray Isha. Actual times depend on where you live though.
Hope that answers the questtion.

Sister, I once read that you have until the middle of the time between Isha and Fajr, but can't find the source at the moment.
In other words, if Isha is at 9:00 pm and Fajr is at 4:00 am, you have until midway time, which is 00:30 am (3.5 hours is half of 7 hours) to pray Isha.
It's always better to pray it as early as possible though...
I will try to find the source for you.

I had heard both until midnight, and also until the time of fajr, but I think "Knowing Gnostic" is correct.
It has been said that the reward for a prayer performed within the appointed time is equivalent size of a bird, and the reward for a prayer performed straightaway at the beginning of its appointed time is equivalent to the size of a camel.
Still, if the choice is a bird or nothing, better the bird.

Dear Daughter Wa'likumussalaam Warahmatullah
It is necessary to know your residential country & location to provide you the precise timings of Isha.
The following text answered by Muftis religious scholars might be of some help. Contact some religious scholar in your area if it did not help you.
Praying Isha Early
Answered by Sidi Mostafa Azzam
Is it permissible in our school to pray Isha 50 minutes after maghrib? If so where does this ruling come from and are there any conditions? If it is not permissible, where might this misunderstanding have come from?
Isha time enters when the red twilight disappears from the sky. This varies from place to place and from season to season, and is not fixed to 50 minutes. Prayer timetables calculate isha according to the disappearance of the white twilight, which is later than the disappearance of the red. If one prays isha according to the prayer timetable, this is fine.

Is it superior to pray Isha at its time or praying close to Fajr time with Tahajjud?
Answered by Shaykh Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera
What would be more rewarded? praying isha at it's time before the halfway point, or let's say by accident, I go to sleep and happen to get up 30 min before fajr, so I pray isha , and some tahajjud. Which would be the more rewarded scenario?
Assalamu alaykum
In the name of Allah, the Inspirer of truth.
It is superior for men to perform 'Isha salat with congregation whenever that takes place at the local masjid. Thereafter, get up for tahajjud and perform the witr salat with it the latter part of the night. For women though it would be superior to perform the 'Isha as late as possible before sleeping, as long as it is before half the night has passed, then wake up for tahajjud. If this is not possible then it would be superior to perform the 'Isha salat early then awaken before dawn for tahajjud.
It is disliked to delay the Isha prayer beyond half the night. However, witr can be delayed and performed after tahajjud. This holds the most reward.
Wassalam
Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf

nope, Isya' prayer ends before fajr.
it is when night turns to fajr sadiq, that's when Isya' ends and Fajr prayer starts.
to SL: can you read the question?
