There are a few "religions" (I'd call them lifestyles, really) that are atheistic already. Secular Humanists, Brights...etc.
Also, there's Universalist Unitarianism, Buddhism, and some other actual religions that are also atheistic or are flexible enough that an atheist could be a part of it.
But ultimately, some Christians will think lowly of atheists no matter what we call ourselves, simply because we don't believe Jesus Christ was our savior. That's never going to change.

I've thought of making a "religion" for my beliefs. It isn't so much about the faithfulness. It is about having a place of fellowship and community. People often think that atheists and agnostics are hateful bad people. We are often good people. I would like to have a "church" to go to. But then again, I don't have many friends. I don't get out much. Two kids and what not.

Wouldn't that be an oxymoron?
And ignore the people who say atheists don't belong here.
As for the ones who simply wonder why atheists are here in R&S, try giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they are simply curious.

Atheistic religion? What have you been smoking? Next youll be expecting anarchists to form a political party. Or worse, expecting christians to obey the 10 commandments.

There are enough already. Some are based on beer and cheese, spaghetti has a big following, and my cult of the `begetters` is ever popular. Too many will cause damaging schisms.

Well, who gives a monkey's what such people think?
I don't believe that making a religion of atheism will help. It would impose rules and try to standardise something whose strength is in its diversity.

Let me be the first to say your going to atheistic hell for not believing in the same atheism I believe in. Yes multiple atheisms could be fun.

We belong here just as much as they do. But I do feel we should have our own category to go too.
