Has it run out of space? How do I give it more space? I'm on the Internet *ALOT*.

Could changing the date in the taskbar also mess this up?

I do stuff like keep it on the same day for several days so stuff stays in the "order visited today" window for longer and I've probably changed it to 2006 by accident.

The reason why I have to do this is because IE destroys my first window whenever I click on a link that opens a second full-sized window, losing my browsing trail.

How do I make it so ir will allow more than one IE window at once, this used to be default behavior.

Im not entirely sure what you mean in you Added info, but try to click on tools->Internet Options. Click on the advance tab and then uncheck reuse windows for launching shortcuts.

there are several reasons

1. you haven't changed the setting long enough to see changes

2. its running out of space. each website u vist takes 1 kb to remember, and you visit 1000 websites a day, thats 70 mb for 10 weeks. it could be runnning out of space. you should try deleting unused files on your computer

I can't believe you are doing this! I have my history set to store pages to 0. Are you aware you are unnecessarily using storage space and seriously slowing down your computer? However, if that's what you want, try:
Tools
Internet Options
Temporary Internet Files
Settings
"amount of disk space to use"

You might need to fragment your computer. It makes more space in your hard drive.
