It's a dream not a demon, don't listen to those people.
If you were awake and you saw that I'd say, Yep demon.
It's a dream that is a warning though.
The strong dark figure is a male who isn't in your life but close by (the backboard is between you and him). Probably someone you pass by now and then but don't take much notice of ( you can't really see him just a dark figure). Your subconscious is aware of him though even though you ignore his energy( trying to wake up but being held down).
Your subconscious is very scared of this guy. You should really pay attention to people around you so you can figure out who this guy is. When you find out make sure other people know how you feel about this guy, and watch out for him.
Please take care!!
.
And I want to say this to the people who have no idea how to interpret dreams ..
Shut the **** up you are doing more harm then good.
I have been doing this for over 40 years if that's your question.
And a born again Christian.

I have also had these terrifying dreams.
Do a bit of reading on "night terrors" and "sleep paralysis". It's an entire topic in the subject of dreaming. I've got a few good links for you.
This is considered a legitimate medical condition.
There is a physical trigger during the sleep cycle that prevents our bodies from moving. This trigger prevents people from being able to physically respond to any "bad guys" and "monsters" we happen to dream about.
If you do some reading you may feel more informed and more relaxed about the situation and your dream situation is likely to evolve or improve.

To dream that you are paralyzed, may reflect the current state of your body while you are dreaming. During the REM state of sleep you really are immobile and paralyzed. However symbolically, dreaming that you are paralyzed may mean you are feeling helpless or pinned down in some aspect or circumstances of your waking life. You may feel unable to deal with a situation or that you can't do or change anything. Alternatively, you may feel emotionally paralyzed. You may have difficulties in expressing yourself.
To dream that you are scared, indicates that you are experiencing self-doubt and feelings of incompetence. You may be feeling a lack of control. Anger often masquerades as fear, so also consider issues about which you are angry about in your waking life.

You are trying to get away from a problem, but it looks like you can't get out of it.
I think the way to cure this problem would be the way to cure the demon in the dream, pretend it's not there and just wake up to life.

Know this: There is nothing to fear. Just as one shines a flashlight into the darkness, the darkness ceases to exist. It never really existed in the first place, as darkness is just a lack of light.
Your fear has manifested itself in your dream. Ask yourself what is it that you fear and "shine light" on it. Sorry, this is not really an answer, as the answer is within you. Good luck!

Yes, it's a demon. Yes they are real, as real as you and me. And I'd say that you've accepted Christ as your Savior, and either you've dabbled into something you shouldn't have , or your getting very close to Christ and Satan doesn't like it because He (God) has something for you, and it would interfere with Satan's plans.
I know this from personal life experience. When I was 13, I accepted Christ as my Savior. By the time I was 18, lets just say I done a few things that the Lord says not to do in His Word. The last thing I done opened up the door to Hell. I dealt with demons for 2 years before I finally got back to the Lord and He forgave me and gotten rid of them. But after that, when I found I was walking closer to the Lord, I would deal with demons again.
And in Jesus' name you can make them be gone. But, you have to know there's power in the Name.

I agree 100% with the first person. It has happened to me too. It's hard to tell if you're awake or asleep. You feel as if you're being detained but nothings touching you.
People want to believe in angels because it makes them feel good. According to Newton's Third Law (that for every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction), if you want to be scientific about it, there would have to be demons if there are angels.
The Bible says: Ephesians 6:10-12 (King James Version)
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Call on Jesus, plead the blood of Jesus and pray.
This may not be the cool answer but the devil isn't cool and he doesn't play fair. I will pray and believe with you.
Do not be afraid, you are a child of God. Romans 8:15 says: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

It's a dream, nothing more. That other guy's just psycho. Don't worry about it... put on some happy music and go to sleep next time.

That's a demon, Ive seen those things (when I wasn't sleeping) and also had similar dreams. Sometimes you feel paralyzed, etc. Usually I just pray and they go away. You are probably a special person and that is why you are getting this harrassment, you probably have something good nearer than you realize.
