Alright, this is long, but I need some advice.
I've liked this guy i've been friends with for a long time. We've been spending alot of time together and talking on the phone. He's a genuinely sweet and nice guy. He invites me over and we go out to places with his friends and mine too. He even invited me to a party at his cousin's house for 4th of July.
I finally told him that I like him, and he says he likes me back, and he has liked me for a while.
I asked him where he wanted to go from here, and he says that he doesn't want to get too serious so soon this summer, but that he would love to become "exclusive" this year at school. (we're going to the same college this fall)
Now, it seems like he's not as interested as he was since I told him. We've still been hanging out, and its like nothing is wrong, but I have a vibe that it is.
I asked him if he was mad, and he told me he wasn't at all, he thought I was upset with him about something.
Am I reading too far into this?

Why do you want to know where you "go from here".You're crowding him,relax take each day as it comes.Don't push for the next stage.

Its quite possible that the uncertanty has been washed away, now he "has" you he can relax a bit. This isnt a bad thing as such this will give him a cooling down period. Of course there is the possiblility that he is getting it on with other chicks inbetween, its unlikely though.
Dont stress, i doubt your showing the same sort of interest now that he has told u how he feels.
