This is a little long so please bare with me. THANKS. Alright, so I hung out with this sweet guy last summer almost every day. He is a shy guy so he never got to asking me out, but he told my friend he liked me and everything, but then I left for Europe for a month and a couple days before I left I told him through e-mail that I liked him I just wasn't ready for a relationship, and he sounded very happy by that..but by the time I got back home we never really saw eachother because school and work. I was literally just getting over him and a couple weeks ago he called me to see what I was up to. So now all I ever do is think about him. What on earth am I supposed to do now? I am shy aswell..but I swear I can't get my mind off him and I just don't where to go from here. I am too scared to go on a 'date', but do you think I should invite him over to hang out or something? I am 17 he is 18, I am not experienced with relationships at all, and I just need some advice.

Your shyness won't pose a problem because he seems to be shy himself. Spend some time talking to each other, and that will help you gauge what to do next. Laughing together and sharing experiences you have in common will give you both the confidence to move closer toward one another....it's a scary first step, but it's not nearly as complicated as you think it is right now. Good luck to you both.

Well its obvious that you are letting the idea of who you think he is and what the two of you could have get in the way of what will be. You have to let go of everything that you and he kinda shared before and ask him to get together. I think that you should meet up with him somewhere like a starbucks or something and maybe ask him if he wants to take you to a movie. Just spend pressure free time together in public where there are lots of things to talk about. Then see if he is someone you want to spend more time with. If yes then invite him over to the house otherwise make no plans and tell him you've jus been so busy that you don't want to make plans just to cancel them later.

Start with something smaller, and work your way up to something bigger and better. Just talking on the phone is a good way to start things off. Even if you're too shy to talk on the phone, try leaving him texts or small emails and wait for him to reply. You'll see the more you talk the more things will go along. The important thing is to take your time, and dont push or force anything you both are uncomfortable with, like a full on date tomorrow night.
