I tend to agree that puberty is responsible. Your body is so busy right now that it takes a lot of fuel to make those developments possible. Not only are you developing sexually (which is what puberty is all about) but you have brain development and physical growth. On top of all that, adolescence is such a weird time for all of us. You are probably emotionally exhausted most of the time, trying to meet new expectations, find new roles, starting to get some real independence from your parents, even making some adult-sized decisions, dealing with peer pressure, blah blah. All this craziness burns calories.
My suggestion, since you said you have had a weight problem in the past, is that while you get through this growth spurt (which is what this is, even if you don't get taller) get on a healthy eating plan and exercise program so that you can stay thin after this is over.

Puberty!!!!! You went through puberty and it jump started your metabolism---all those hormones kicking around, and your body started to lose weight-- you got more energy--be thankful!!! The same thing happened to me when I was 13-- I lost 25 lbs over the summer and never once stopped eating candy bars!!!
Be thankful that you are losing the weight but NOW --since you are becoming the new YOU and I assume you like the new you-- and I'm sure girls will soon like the new you---start watching what you eat so you don't start packing the weight back on by the time you're a Senior!!!
PS when you go to the doctors--have the doctor check your thyroid just to make sure that it is working fine.
HAPPY HIGH SCHOOL!!!

It sounds like you hit the nose on the button, you lucked out with the family Gene.
Check out this site for your weight in comparison to your age and height.

If you become increasingly worried about the amount of weight you are loosing go talk to a doctor.

Same thing happened to both of my brothers. I think it has alot to do with puberty and and the different hormones. Plus you are probably getting taller so your weight could just be evening out.

maybe you just hit puberty and your body was storing extra weight for growing. If you haven't had a growth spurt yet, you probably will! so go buy some new clothes in a larger size! lol :)

hey ben its just your body's nateral matabalism kicking in!
its your body growing so your going to become more mature and your voice will break (if not already broken)
i lost quiet abit of weight at your age aswell, it all depends on what sort of matabalismn you have, it it mite be that you are just loosing all your "puppy fat"
anyway dont worry about it, but if you become drastcly under weight or dizzy and light headed go to your doctors just in case!

Did you grow as well? Maybe by not realising you ate foods to speed up your metabolism such as spicy foods/foods containing cinnamon herbs...maybe it's your genetic code, your lucky, you've got some great genes
