Because they know a good thing when they see it.
And Midge, don't listen to Grendel. He's just jealous. :)

They didn't adopt the clothes they kept the clothes. The protestant denominations were once Catholic and split off due to theological/interpretation differences. Some have stayed closer to the Catholics others have distanced themselves pretty far. The collar is not a copy cat. The Catholics used this article of clothing to differentiate the clergy from the congregation. Many protestant denominations want to be less "separate" and therefore got rid of the practice of wearing the collar.

No, there are other religions that use collars much like the Catholics. You can't just wear a collar of another faith because you want to. Neither the Catholics nor the other religion would allow you to do that.

The long gown shows a sign of humilty; they put them down because some of their doctrines or teachings are not found in the Bible. For instance, Confession to priest isn't part of Jesus teachings, Jesus had died on the cross to save humanity and give everyone the opportunity to approach God anytime and individually. Another doctrine that some other Christian church found to be wrong is the praying to Mary, christians revered Mary as the mother of Jesus but no place in the indicate that one should pray to MARY. These are usually hot topics that other christians found to be wrong because they are false doctrines.

fish god worshippers were the roman someone said.
but i read ancient romans used human urine as mouthwash meanig when they preached it was the p*** talking, ie it was something the body didn't need. Martin Luther knew that, i watched the movie version called Luther, and as a part-german i agree its more important to feed your children then buy a parchment from a roman preist. So from Me to germans thank you for standing up for whats right.
it would be like buying a ticket to heaven from Me. only valuable 5000-6000 years from now as an antiuque.
and the first collars were steel meant to protect they're neck from swords because of the crap they preached. practical romans were originally heritics or pagan which i can respect because it kind of means a human-looking lord could not have created the planet, sun, stars unless you mean his characters that make up his name are used to create the words planet, Moon(IVI O On I), STAR(S TAD L i-i L TAD S=STAR). Some said roman were babylonian exiles who worshipped the fish god. I think they didn't really worship the fish god but the fish themselves, which is fine with Me, cause i enjoy a good fish too. So be practical in your daily lives and like Jesus said donate to the poor when they need it, i am poor sometimes but the RC's have never given me cash, althought they do have soup kitchens which is good, so put people first not god. Its much more noble then fighting holy wars or Jihads.

It happens like that in SOME Protestant Churches. There are Protestant Churches that are VERY similar to Roman Catholicism (ex. Anglicanism/Episcopalianism, Lutheranism) so they retained this after the split. Others on the other hand copy us...it's sad I know.

Does that really matter? It's not the cloths that make one properly ordained Church leader. Something else is involved and that's what's really important.
