won't find it due to age.
v dub super beetle in immaculate shape would go for $2500 to $3500 depending on how close you are to a major college. super beetle convertible would go for $5500 to $5800.
good condition and running well would fetch $2200 To $2500.
I have a '74 beetle i'v just finished going thru the motor and if I were going to sell i'd ask $2200.

I own a 1971 Super Beetle and paid $2000 for it which was a fair price, considering that it needed a $1200 engine replacement.
In addition to the new engine, I spent an additional $3000 in a custom paint job and new (white) upholstery, side panels, and headliner. I have been offered anywhere from $5000-6000 for the restored car....which is pretty much what we've put into it.

Forget the blue book.. What your question really should be is:
\
How much will someone be willing to PAY for a '71 super beetle - RIght?
Your best bet to find THAT answer is to see what others HAVE paid.
go to eBay and do a search for 71 vw and filter out the results at $1000 or more to get rid of all the toys, models, and parts.
Then run the search for COMPLETED auctions .
(you can also vary the year or search for super beetles or whatever to find out what you need to know...)
Don't forget to add transportation costs to pick up the cars since most vehicles are sold as is where is and the buyer factored that into his/her bid.

I purchased a very original and excellent 1972 Super Beetle (1302S), in October 2006.
It was a one-owner car, and had done just over 107,000 genuine miles. It had been used very carefully & sparingly.
I paid the approximate equivalent of US$ 3,000/- (in my currency), which I still consider a bargain.
In my opinion, it would be worth around US$ 3,500/- to US$ 4,000/-.
A similar condition 1971 Super Beetle too, would be worth around the same. The price will of course vary according to its originality and overall condition.
