I am kind of new to answers. I have asked a couple of questions just to get some advice and input only to find that most of the answers are rude, nasty and judgemental. (like the question i just asked in general pregnancy and parenting) Why do people on here judge others like they are better? Furthermore why do these people say things in their answer that they wouldn't dare say to the persons face? I mean just downright rude, nasty, people on here. Keep your negative comments, and judgemental comments to yourself. I must say i appreciate those of you that have answered any of my questions without a slick, judgemental, comment, and have given me good input on my questions. Some of your answers I have actually used, I wish there was more people like yourselves. Why can't people on answers just be positive, and actually try to help someone instead of passing judgement, and being nasty?

There are rude people everywhere, but online you'll find even more because a lot of people who wouldn't dare being so rude in person feel all strong and confident when they can be anonymous.
However, the best thing to do is to ignore them. While of course a few of the rude people are just people who feel very strongly about a certain topic and can't contain themselves, most of these rude folks are bullies. Bullies aren't rude because they care that much about the issue they're talking about, but they thrive on the reactions they get! Any time someone responds to them, either in a later answer or by posting a question like yours, they love it, that's exactly what they want. Either ignore them or just hit the 'report' flag without posting any response for everyone to see, and leave it at that. If no one would react to their flaming, they'd get bored and find something else to do, unfortunately on a large board like this there will always be some who will respond...

You hit the nail on the head when you said "why do people say things in their answers that they wouldn't dare to say to the person's face?" - because they are cowards! The anonymity of the internet allows them to be rude, nasty and mean to total strangers, which is probably what they'd like to do on a daily basis to the people in their lives but know they can't if they want to have any friends or family left!! (Or maybe they're just genuine ******* all the time!) So they take it out on the people in Answers!
I asked a question about a week ago that I really, really needed some help with. It was a "computer emergency". It was a very detailed question, because in the past I've asked questions that didn't have enough detail, and I couldn't get any helpful answers because people didn't know what I meant. Within 2 minutes I got an answer and I remember feeling so relieved and thinking "wow, someone's gonna try to help" until I read it. It was some snotty girl who said something to the effect of "I'm not going to even TRY to answer your question, who wants to read a question that's THAT long? Get a life!!" I felt like putting in some "additional details" telling her that if a paragraph of reading is too overwhelming for her, maybe she ought to spend less time on her computer, and go back to school, but I took the "high road" and didn't even dignify her with a response. Didn't want to sink to her level. I was so angry though that I did delete the question.
Don't let a few losers take away from the great experience of being able to have other people share their wisdom, good quality answers (based on education or life experience) and their opinions with you. Plus sometimes Answers is just plain old fun!!! Take care!

I've been told about ten thousand times that I'm not a Real Christian (TM) because my beliefs don't fall in with the extremist party line. I share some of your views. I hold citizenship in a secular nation (the United States). There are many paths to God. I take part in both Christian and non-Christian rites. I am not afraid of non-Christian influences. I refuse to use my religion as an excuse for bigotry and hatred. Anyway, congratulations for not trying to shove the Divine into a one-size-fits-all box.

You are so right I recently asked a question and i only got one response but the girl was extremely bratty and rude its like why even answer if all you want to do is be mean? I know they only answer to be mean or get the points i wish there was a way to take the points away if you didn't like their attitude haha but that would be a perfect world actually in a perfect world the rude ones would be banned from yahoo answers until they could learn to be nice and not stupid

I only give smart, rude responses to people who I know are just asking silly questions to stir up trouble. Like this guy this morning who asked 'are we giving women TOO much equality?', I knew he was just asking for it, so I gave it lol. But when its obvious someone is in true need of help and support, I try the best I can.
I think what everyone else is saying is right, people are free to act completely different online than they are in real life, because they don't have to worry about the consequences of their actions. Don't let those jerks get you down and stop you from enjoying Y!A

Let me tell you something. People only do what they think they can get away with. If you were to asked these same questions to someone in person they would have nothing bad to say. That's why I hate this forum but I keep coming back because some of these people on here are cool and real. I just filter out the crap and pay attention to those who are ginuine.

There is some people on here that will actually give you decent answers. When you find people that are polite, and very informative, give good answers, and ask good questions add them to your contact list. They will be able to find your questions easily, and you will be able to also answer their questions.
You are right people know that they wouldn't say half the trash they say to someone's face. I just regard them as a coward, you can block them from answering your questions. Just discern who you chat with, but there are some really good people in Yahoo besides the imbesols.

Some people are just jerks. Also, being an anonymous person behind a computer gives a lot of lee way for saying anything you like. Some people are just jerks. It's the way of the world. Sorry, there are always some.

Because unfortunately, the world is full of idiots. Moreso on the internet because they use it as a sheild to protect themselves. However, you'll probably find that if you ever met half of these people in person, you'd hear a vast amount of complete silence because no one has the balls to say what they want to say once they're all face to face with eachother.
Sadly, it's the way of the world - especially the internet world.

Unfortunately yahoo answers relies on people who are anonymous, so they feel they can do things they would never do if people knew who they were. You pretty much just have to ignore those comments, these people do this for attention so the greatest revenge is to just not give it a second thought. Good luck finding all the answers you seek :)
