is there an appropriate person to talk to?

Is there anything, like a counsler, but not for mental health issues, more for philosophical issues. Similar to a pastor for religious people, but, uh, not religious?

I really need to talk to someone impartial and reasonably non judgemental (but willing to call me on any BS I am convincing myself of) about things that are not emotional or practical issues, more philosophical.

What kind of thing am I looking for? Is there a name for a person with such a role?

I didn't mean someone on here.

My freinds would not understand.

I am a spiritual counselor... that does not mean I am a religious counselor, but instead a counselor of the spirit.

I am certified to help on a spiritual level. This is in many ways like a psychiatrist, but not so much on a mental level, more on an emotional and spiritual level.

You need to talk to somebody who can be impartial and non-judgemental? And you came here? Boy, are YOU in the wrong place!

Seriously, I suppose such people can be called "spiritual advisors", but that's one of those titles that anybody can take up. I suggest talking to somebody at a Unitarian church.

Clinical psychologist. Check the the Dept. of Health and Human Services in your town for a listing of those are connected with them or that are in the local area if your town isn't big enough to have its own.

Psychologists deal with more than mental health issues, they also deal with life issues also.

A sincere person who helps other as a service to God, who is nonsectarian, and non judgmental and knows a lot of things, emotionally, physically psychologically and spiritually. I haven't met someone with a title who is really qualified for this position though I do this type of counseling.

Sophia....what about a life coach? Someone that can listen to you regarding your outlook on life, your goals, expectations, etc. and help you feel comfortable about where you are and what you think/feel and help you develop a plan for where you want to me.

There are some great life coaches out there!
