Have someone look over your resume. You would be amazed at how many people with a good education have a hideous resume.

I have received resumes in crayon, with smiley faces, wrinkled and stained with coffee. I also got resumes with spelling errors, error in the dates that they worked some place. (One gal put on her resume that she had worked from 1899 to 2001 for a company) and my least favorite, incomplete sentences. Example: I love to I read it thinking you love to what? Have them be very critical, and ask them if they understand what each sentence is suppose to be saying.

Try www.seek.com where you can put in the type of career you're looking for and the location you prefer to work in.
Alternatively, try the govt websites for something long term.
