I absolutely hate it. It's like you're their psychologist and you have to hear them go on and on about how so-and-so did them wrong and who to stay away from, etc. All that I have to say is... Who cares? Seriously, I really don't care; I'm just here to do my work. I'm not here to listen to you complain about Jesse for stealing your man.

Sounds like you are in for a quick course on office politics. My advice is to stay to yourself, but be cordial. Do your best work, because that is why you are there. Do not become complacent or join the water cooler crowd, the coffee crowd, or even the bathroom crowd. Keep your work superior. As you can see it is just like high school. Everyone is trying to get people on their team. In other words, ignore them and always remember why you are there, which is for yourself and your family.

Okay, if that chick complaining about Jessie is named Emily, I so didn't steal her man. She gave him up. LOL

Anyway, they're coming and dishing to you because they've already told their stories to everyone else who works there. Plain and simple, you're a new person to talk to and people just LOVE talking about themselves.

Explain that you're uncomfortable with thier personal matters and you'd really appreciate it if they kept it to themselves.

Best of luck!

P.S. Tell Emily that was ten years ago. Time to get over it.

They want you to hear their side first and hate their enemies as much as they do. You are right to stay out of it.
