I am 17 years old and have been trying for a few weeks to get a job. I have my first interview tomorrow (thankfully), but in case that doesn't work, I need a back up plan. I've applied to almost ten stores, and the only store to actually give me an interview was Target, where I filled out the application in the store. I was told that I failed the assessment tests at both Sears and Best Buy, and there's a good chance I failed at all of the stores that I couldn't get in touch with too. I am a straight A student in Honors and College-Level courses, and I really don't see why I can't get a job! Sadly, there is no place to put my GPA on applications.
What can I do to pass these tests? They are the personality tests that you take while filling out the application.

I'm not sure what the assessment test you are taking. Was it an integrity test? If that's the case then don't be "by the book". Think what would the "average Joe" say for this question.

I failed an integrity test once and I couldn't believe it. Then I was told that former military (which I am) and law enforcement people often fail because they see the worst in people (go figure). Good Luck!

I suggest looking for the answers online, but if all else fails call a couple of hiring managers where you're applying before you apply. Make some inquiries on what their looking for, and mention offhand that you have trouble with the assessments. I had one employer get pretty far in the process of hiring me (be cause I came in and inquired, chatted a bit) before he noticed that I was red. He told me that they were looking for "safety" and "communication" on their test.

Also, if the Red test is the only obstacle and the employer seems interested, call corporate. If you can get through the the employment sections, they'll sometimes tell you ways off getting more opportunites to take the test, even if you officially can't.

Try temp agencies too if your desperate. They're a lot of paperwork at odd office hours, but they give you previous experience, and they're a good way to get you're foot in the door at higher paying jobs liek factories. If an employer likes you enough, they may even bring you on as an actual employee without any of the application tape. Pretty much just take a piss test and go.

If you are failing these assessment test you are taking, try to find out how badly your failing. If you are in fact failing badly, what you want to do when taking your test: Read the question carefully think about what your answer would before making that answer, find the other answer, the one you think would be the absolute wrong answer, this is the correct answer. Occasionally the correct answer will be the second to the your last chose answer. So in short try to answer whatever you think would be the wrong answer.
"Q. Your being robbed, a man ask you for money or harm will come to you?"
"A. Calmly give the man what he asks in a non threatening manner. If possible try to get a mental general description of the robber (height, weight, scares, tattoo s,what was said to you/tone of voice).
"Wrong answer!! anything that has to do trying to be the hero and save the day!!"

Some job assessment tests are personality tests. Increasingly more employers are using pre-employment personaliy tests to screen job applicants for good reasons. Some of these tests are very tricky, you'd better prepare yourself well before taking them, or you would have a big chance of failing them. The key is to find a good personality test training and simulaiton website. One good one I used befor is www.acejobtest.com. Just FYI.

You don't really want to work at corporations that utilize these "assessment tests" anyway. They are just looking for Yes men/women they can take advantage of. They are the stupidest thing I've seen in hiring in my 40+ years in the workforce.

Do you know what part did you fail in on the Cablevision assessment test? What questions you felt that were difficult to answer?

I'm making good profit with penny stock
Check here http://trade-pennystock.checkhere.info

Many new investors are lured to the appeal of a penny stock due to the low price and potential for rapid growth which may be as high as several hundred percent in a few days. Similarly, severe loss can occur and many penny stocks lose all of their value in the long term. Accordingly, the SEC warns that penny stocks are high risk investments and new investors should be aware of the risks involved but you can even make very big money. These risks include limited liquidity, lack of financial reporting, and fraud. A penny stock is a common stock that trades for less than $5 a share. While penny stocks generally are quoted over-the-counter, such as on the OTC Bulletin Board or in the Pink Sheets, they may also trade on securities exchanges, including foreign securities exchanges. In addition, penny stocks include the securities of certain private companies with no active trading market. Although a penny stock is said to be "thinly traded," share volumes traded daily can be in the hundreds of millions for a sub-penny stock. Legitimate information on penny stock companies can be difficult to find and a stock can be easily manipulated.
