you have to actually remove the dashboard on most models and can be quite a lengthy process. Check your local library for a repair manual to take you through the process step by step. "Chilton" has pictures to help guide you and is very descriptive--my preference. You can also use an online repair manual but you will have to pay for a subscription to view it.

Before you go through all that check a few other things. If your tailights are out all your dashboard light will also fail, check the fuses and the tailights first. It is rare that all the dashboard light will burn out at one time.

Its easy to do. Take out your instrument cluster, and twist out the little plugs in the back. Replace the bulbs and put back together. I did mine in about 45 minutes last year. A real no brainer, however I didn't do the heat/vent cluster but it can't be much different.
