I second the need for names. We need a list that there be a source. It isn't coming from any I know. A list would be nice -- then we would know who the prophets are NOT.
When things really hit the fan in North America nobody is going to care what they said anyway.
As Jeremiah noted in his day, speaking of the latter days by the Lord: " I have not sent these prophets, yet they run; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied." Jer. 23:21.
The sign of a true prophet of God was refined by God in the days of Jeremiah. Jer. 28:9 is the key to a real prophet. This cuts out almost everyone today; especially yellow news papers at the check out counter; fly by night preachers, and the canned version of prophets in modern media.

They do it because it feeds the fear in their congregations that gives the preachers the ability to foster an 'us vs them' mentality, with themselves in a leadership position.
It allows them to create a boogie-man of them 'ferners' who speak funny and wear funny clothes, giving them something to rail against in their hate-filled sermons.
They also know that if such an attack does occur, they will be praised for their skill in prognostication, while if it doesn't, they can either claim victory for their prayers, the beneficent forces of Homeland Security, or both, and it leaves open the ominous possibility that even if it didn't happen today - it could still happen tomorrow!

Haven't heard a thing. You didn't get this news from The New York Times, did you(they've been known to be less reliable than The National Enquierer when it comes to actual facts. It does make for good toilet paper when you're camping in the woods).

Attacks on the U.S. are never guaranteed as to when they will happen. Many countries hate us so there is always that chance. As for this summer, it cannot be definite. I do feel though that an attack will happen in the future, although I do not know from who.

No, I think religious leaders sometimes do this to get people thinking about the hereafter and encourage them to get right with God. Way back, the church was predicting the end of days in the year 1000. Some may really believe it but for most I think its a way to "scare up" some believers!

Sounds like they're either in on it, or would be if they could be.
Okay, seriously people, we don't need to be trying to force the "End Times." We need to stop this End Times nonsense and start working to fix the world. Don't preachers have a little more useful and positive message to get across?

Because preachers have been railing about disasters and God's impending judgment for millennia. They're nearly always wrong.

stuff like that is like predicting a hurricane during hurricane season. Hello? Does the US currently have troops fighting abroad? Maybe in regions know to bring forth terrorists and such? And if it doesn't happen, it'll be forgotten about because the next thing to be afraid of has already come forth.
People like that make me sick, and fear-mongers such as you do too.

Because we're do for another "the world is going to end" episode and even though they were wrong the other 12 times, if they keep predicting it, they think they'll be right someday!
