Becoming a teacher at Julliard is one of those final steps in a profession. You'd start out as a music - study in college for the next 8-10 years, then have a profession in music as a performer or historian or teach at a few other universities- and hopefully write many books, build your name up over your life time, and somewhere near the end, get a job at Julliard.... maybe if there is an opening. But I can assure you, after you have done everything else, you won't really care if you work at Julliard or not- it looses it's light as you get closer to it.

I agree with the other answers. Another thing you'll have to do is to become a very respected performer with a name for yourself. The old combination of knowledge, ability, and experience. My former trumpet teacher is currently a teacher at Julliard. He battled through the ranks of performing and recording, even playing on Broadway, before being excepted onto the Julliard staff.

To answer the question,

Juilliard doesn't have scouts but rather the faculty is involved in making the decisions about who is accepted and who isn't. This is similar to most performance schools.

To become a teacher at Juilliard will take a lot of hard work and determination. Depending on your field of performance you will need either a Masters degree or a doctorate, although for Juilliard I can almost guarantee it will be a doctorate.

Getting any job as a college professor is extremely competitive, even more so for a school like Juilliard with its international reknown.

have you ever had instructors that stimulated you, Made an outstanding distinction in existence or have been a robust function sort for you? because of the fact of this we grow to be instructors because of the fact we could want to make a distinction interior the lives of their pupils. optimistic the pay sucks yet you dont do it for the money, you do it because of the fact its a calling, a vocation. You do it given which you?want to be there. Ive been coaching in Japan for?the final 28 years, some days are a drag and an outstanding form of days i want to strangle my pupils however the best ones make it precious, once you notice the sunshine bypass in in someones eyes, you notice the keenness for gaining awareness of a few thing new. If that starvation has been extinguished in you that could make you ask your self why every physique could grow to be instructors, yet once you like little ones, love gaining awareness of and love coaching then thats why you do it and maximum days it doesnt sense like somewhat artwork. a lot extra powerful than sitting in a cubicle and pushing around paper all day.

Hon, Juillard, doesn't have scouts. They don't need them.
They have more than enough students trying to get into the school.
