Who put that desire there?
Often those asserting that there is no God blame Him for catastophes or tradgedies such as 9/11, so why blame a non-existent God?

Man is aware of God because He was created by God to know and answer to Him!

We are so very much on exactly the same page with God. God is the one that puts the desire in our hearts to know Him, and He says He gives us a little measure of faith, that we all may investigate to learn more of Him. Some will and some wont. ITs all choice. BUt, I truly believe that with that measure of faith He has given to everyone, that most do know on some leve. ... down deep that there is a God. But, most dont want to know, or even more so, dont want to live the way God says to live. The devil uses this to speak to their minds and hearts to tell they there is no good, or there are other gods besides the real true God of the Bible. and, even the ones that turn to God, the devil still convinces them that because of grace, they can continue in sin and dont have to obey. But, God says, if you love me, you wil obey, and we all know God says we must love Him, and follow Jesus. So, grace doesnt cover deliberate continued sin. Its for the sins before we knew, or what we dont know is sin yet. Jesus came to not give us freedom to sin, but to be free of sin.
The reason that many that say they never believed... will call out to God in times of danger, or real serious trouble, is cuz down deep they do KNOW there is a God and when its time to really need Him, they want Him there, but they dont want to be there for God. God will not hear the prayers of a sinner, unless this person is reaching up in repentance to God.
This is all Biblical. And, yes ppl blame God for everything. lies of the devil, again. IF all those that did horrible things were following God, they wouldnt do those things. Its when one rebels against God, that they do the works of the devil and do things to destroy self and others around them.
But, I belive down deep, we ALL know. And i believe that is very Biblical Knowing and wanting to know are very different. Jesus sacrificed unto death for us all. The least we can do is serve Him in obedience and love, and if we need make sacrifice for Him, that we be willing to do so, and be joyful about it. God takes nothing away from us that is good. He only takes away things that are bad, that will hurt us or hurt others. Obedience leads to blessing and disobedience leads to curse.
Great thought question. God puts the desires for Him in our hearts, and its is up to us to check things out and see that He is almighty GOd and longs to save us, heal and deliver us from all evil, and take us to Heaven with Him. And, yet how many will not want to know that.??? Cuz, it means they must give up sin. devil maes sin seem pretty attractive, unless you are in the will of God and have the heart and mindset of Jesus, desiring only what He desires.
Then its easy. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we will overcome, if we want to... But, we can only pray for those that dont know God .. that they will desire Him before its too late.

I wouldn't expect atheists to blame God, its the people who believe in God, but don't ever talk to him or thank him for anything until something bad happens, then who would automatically be the ultimate scapegoat? You guessed it, God, because people don't wanna ask the questions, like WHY did WE not do anything better to prevent this from happening? Nobody wants to say they could've done more, they always want to blame God, because that would be the most obvious choice. I detest that with all my will.

Excellent Question!!! It does seem as though when people who never discuss the Lord or want anything to do with Him, finally get jarred when they see a missle over head. I can tell you that it usually takes a 9-11 to wake people up, that there is IN DEED a
God. As bad as 9-11 was it could have been worse, for those now over in Iraq I think it's worse...Maybe the Lord is stirring people up to Call upon His name and be saved....Even the Katrina Hurricane, people were Upset at a God they don't acknowledge Until His Wrath is upon them.....
I think it's important to Pray with out ceasing just as the Word says we are to do.....We do serve a Mighty and Everlasting God....

We have been created to have a courting with God. human beings turn to Him in situations of hardship. They blame God because of the fact they say if there grow to be a God he could end suffering. The catastrophes are brought about by utilising our sin and how we've dealt with the planet.

Because when danger appears, and its beyond control of man then he has to look toward something that is "more" than he is, in order to resolve the situation.

Man is a creature that will "try" to empower himself to overcome any and all obstacles...

While everything is going "his way" and he is overcomeing them, on his own, he needs no GOD.

(Sounds strange doesnt it?)

But, as long as nothing presents a problem that he cant handle, then he will not "call" upon a "higher power" than he is, because he is solving his own problems.

Now, when that problem 'does' arrive, and I am sure thats where the trials and tribulations come into play, then he 'has' to rely on something "other" than him to resolve the situation, and, as was mentioned in many "military instances", "There are no "athiests" in fox holes!"

GOD knows man's heart, and waits to be called upon to enter man's heart and be welcomed in. HE loves to be a part of us, and it seems that HE must create the circumstances in order to enter some men's hearts as normally they wouldnt invite HIM in!! Sounds unbelieveable, but its true.

I wish you well...

Present ONE example of an atheist blaming your deity for 9/11.

---------

Thomas G:

That's my point. I am an atheist. I did not blame a deity for 9/11. I did not blame a deity for Katrina and Rita. The first was the actions of sociopathic fanatics, the latter was simply meteorology.

Praying would have done no good. I didn't pray, in fact.

Both times I got my Search & Rescue gear together because I knew I'd be activated and very possibly sent. I was correct -- both times, the volunteer team I was with was called and asked to be ready to fly (even during the airspace lockdown, in the case of 9/11) within 24h notice. Neither time, fortunately or unfortunately (depending on yourview), was I deployed.

As I sat there for days waiting for an opportunity to serve and mourning the destruction and loss of lives, thoughts of a deity never once crossed my mind.

/Actually, every time I ever heard of God being blamed for 9/11, it was a religious nut that did it. Mostly citing it as end-times and punishment for allowing homosexuals in the country.

We are no different than the child that calls out to his father when he is lost or in danger. When we are in danger we call out to our Father as well. I have seen many Atheist be converted to Christ in a jail cell. And thank God for it.

A GOOD EXAMPLE WOULD BE PARIS HILTON.

Excellent question. It is as if they only believe in blame! Yet they place blame on a Holy God in Whom they believe not!
