Do you only admire "faith" from people who share your religious view, or do you admire faith from anyone in any religious path?

If you don't admire faith as a quality, why not? What harm can it do to individuals and societies?

I suppose it depends on the definition of faith.
I respect all beliefs that are positive and accepting.
I do not respect those that are fundamentalist by nature.
I think history speaks for itself on that.

I admire people that can think objectively about their beliefs, promote peace and understanding, and still have faith.

But faith isn't always religious. I have faith in the world, and faith that things will work out. It has nothing to do with me being agnostic or even a pagan. It's just me trying to be positive.

The truth transforms us.

Many of our troubles occur because we base our choices on unreliable authorities: culture ( "everyone is doing it" ), tradition ( "we have always done it" ), reason ( "it seemed logical" ), or emotion ( " It just felt right" ). What we need is the perfect standard that will never lead us in the wrong direction. Only God's Word meets that need.

The most important decision you can make today is to settle this issue of what will be the ultimate authority for your life. I cannot say that I admire all faiths, but I admire truth seeking.

OK, maybe I'm odd, but to me, the word faith transcends religious belief. I think we all have faith in something. I have faith in human beings. So, I have a hard time answering this because it really narrows my definition of faith.

That said, I don't admire blind faith, but I admire carefully considered faith in anyone.

No, not in anything. I just think it's stupid.

Maybe I should tone it down a bit - I think it's stupid if that person puts their life on hold while having faith that something is going to happen.

So why don't I admire it? Because it can be misused as a crutch. I admire proactivity and taking action. I'm just a firm believer in DOING; I don't see faith serving any purpose.

I seem to be very left-brained today.......

i admire faith as a quality. I think that we are all on our own religious journey and anyone who has great faith deserves to be admired.

I accept that many people have faith, and I accept that it is their right and that it can give them hope. I do not admire it however.

Faith that flies in the face of evidence seems, to me, to be avoiding reality, and that in itself is not admirable. Furthermore, there is a level of faith which can lead people to do horrible things.

I actually do admire faith in others a great deal, even those of a different religion. Faith is one of those "I know it when I see it" type of things - it may come in a package completely different from one's own, but when it shines through, it shines through just the same.

I've actually had two different experiences of a Sikh driving me to church in an emergency. The first time, I was supposed to do the music for Mass at a big meeting, and I was utterly lost. An off duty bus driver saw me in distress, and picked me up, dropping me right off at the church. He smiled at me when I got off as I thanked him.

In that moment, I not only saw a kindred spirit, I saw an example of who it was I needed and still need to become.

Interesting question. I admire faith that inspires action (Because Faith without works is dead.), but if those actions (like killing others) are violate my religious teachings, then I wouldn't admire that faith at all.

I do not know if I admire faith, but I sure am happy about the faith that I have.
I would like others to have the happiness that faith provides.

I do have a life-long love for ceremony and ritualistic expression. I can admire that in numerous religions. Don't know about "faith" though as something I can "admire".
