Well let's see I lost my son 3 months ago and ever since it seemed one bad thing happened after another but what I do to maintain peace in my mind and heart during difficult times is just tell myself there is a reason God let this happen to me rather it made me a stronger person or is going to help me help another person in trouble later and that God does have a plan for me and I will be ok I just have to get over this difficult hump first ya I still feel pain and cry but I just know that I forever have God and thats all I need to be happy forever.

It is that during difficult times I’ve learned the most profound and life changing lessons. I’m aware that difficult times are opportunities to rise above and beyond the previous level of consciousness so I meditate, ask for divine guidance, observe the omens, maintain positive attitude and faith that this too will come to an end knowing that god will never submit me to any test beyond my ability to endure.
I know that difficult times don’t happen without my consent -and in most cases it is exactly what I wish for- so I take responsibility and protect my emotional centre from harmful feelings (anger, wrath,) my mental centre from harmful thoughts (revenge, get even…) and my spiritual centre from failing to understand and appreciate life’s greater gifts by blaming god or others .

Sometimes you have to just make yourself think of things that are more pleasant. A little peace, even for a little while is a blessing. Of course, nothing really changes, you have to face those times head on and just keep going.
All you can do is just keep going and trying to look at what good there is. I know that is hard. Alcohol helped me for years which was the wrong way to do it.
I wish you the best in your struggle. Friends help but they have to be real friends. I mean not 'fair weather' friends.

Knowing that God works everything together for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.
The peace of God, which passes all understanding will keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Scripture.
I study the word of God and apply it in my life.
I cast all my cares on God because He cares for me.
I pray.
I have hope with confidence that God works all things together for good, even if they do not seem like pleasant circumstances.
I have impersonal love for others.
I say live and let live.

Meditate. Or sometimes pour a glass of wine, depending on the circumstances.
