Just because christians are SUPPOSED to be something, it doesn't mean they are.
Many of us have met too many christians that aren't what they are supposed to be.

Christianity is not the fault,but people,who have interpreted the bible so wrong,and now christians need a miracle just to realise that they have been mislead.

Everyone has met a christian that has done wrong in front of them or did something un-Christ like. The problem is that people are not forgiving to a christian that has sinned, because they expect more from them since they are a follower of Christ. A person that is a Christian has problems too, but no one should know about them but Christ until he delivers you. People label Christians as hypocrites because they have experience Christians lying and sinning, but you can brake the norm by showing that there are true christians who really live for Christ.

Anybody who looks at this forum for a day can probably figure out why.
To say that all Christians are "caring and loving" (or however you'd like to misspell these words) is simply not true. A good deal of them are downright annoying, proselytizing, self-loathing, solipsistic, self-righteous zealots whose biggest fear is that somebody somewhere might be --heaven forbid-- content.
And don't give me that line of "Oh, those weren't the REAL Christians." They sure as heck weren't Druids.
And if you think I'm saying this describes ALL Christians, that brings me to another thing that bothers me about these zealous types: the failure to grasp basic logic. (In this example, the difference between the words "many" and "all".) It doesn't exactly make for great discussions.

The only people who really seem to have problems with Christians are ex-Christians.
So In that regard I would say it's not really Christians that people look down upon but rather, the Christian experience.
As an ex-Christian feelings of angst arise when considering the years of community supported hog wash I was subject to. When being confronted with this mentality there's usually a general sense of rejection. So when the subject is brought up or a reminder appears it's usually met with disdain and loathing accompanied by the usual feelings of angst.

I only have a problem of those that are too judgmental and close-minded to see that there are other ways to live a happy and fulfilled life. I know that true Christians do not think that way.

I think a lot of people cannot distinguish between a real Christian and a false one. I think a lot of people have had bad experiences with us, or a church organization. Not to mention the media scandals that have come out of the evangelical community.

Because there are some Christians who are hateful people or who are intolerant of others beliefs. This is not all Christians. But those who do give Christians a bad name.

First, not all people that claim to be Christian exhibit caring and loving hearts.
Secondly, I think we each possess our own truth and what may be truth for you may not be the truth for someone else.
