no because it's his choice... it would be nice to at least try though.

Is there ever a "guarantee of success?" Operations are risky things; the priest can deny his brother his kidney, but it would be a cowardly thing to do on such flimsy "what if" evidence. He should have his kidney function tested thoroughly, and give one if there is strength in his kidneys. Just because one twin has kidney failure, this does not guarantee the other twin will eventually suffer it. However, if the priest find that his kidneys are just as weak as his brother's, then he should not donate one but should find a close family member who has strong kidneys and enlist their help. But the priest should not stand by and do nothing, for if his kidneys are weak, his reckoning will come, and he will be put in his brother's place. He should do all he can.

Interesting question! At the root of it is this: is a priest held to a higher moral code than the rest of us? I think members of the clergy are... but Hell?!!!
My understanding of the Hell/Heaven dilemma is that popular opinion on Y!A (or on Earth for that matter) has little to do with the outcome. The info I was fed in church was that God made that decision. Our job was to live as best we could, keep the commandments, and pray for guidance when unsure. God was supposed to be a forgiving (though foreboding) entity.
Maybe the real question is "What is the moral choice?" Perhaps Hell is not something the priest concerns himself too terribly much with. Perhaps he has a good relationship with God and his brother. Perhaps he is bound more by helping on Earth that worrying about his eternal soul. I don't think people choose the priesthood by accident!!! *grin* (Can you imagine?! "Yeah... telemarketing didn't work out so well... I'm thinking of joining the priesthood.")
I don't know the answer. I don't worry about anyone else's eternal soul... I am not sure that Hell even exists.... and I do know that I don't want the power to have to decide. (that's me... undecided!)

The guy is a priest and I'm sure he knows that God can forgive any sin. Also, serving your whole life as a servant to God puts him in good standing anyway. Is it his moral obligation? probably, but that does not have an effect on his afterlife considering the precarious nature of the situation, and that God forgives us for pretty much everything if we are truly sorry. Will he regret not donating his kidney if his brother dies? yes, but feeling that you made a poor decision does not damn you to hell.
Oh, and religion generally says: no extraordinary means to keep someone alive, so I would say organ donation would fall into that category, possibly for him.

Death is the eventuallity of all men. romans 5:12
No he would not be condemned because of not giivng his brother a kidney. Hell, the common grave of mankind is where all will eventually go because of Adamic sin.
Although they are twins, they are 2 separate individuals, each accountable to God

It would go against his supposed giving and loving nature to NOT give his kidney to his brother. People who do so can live full lives without any problems.

Why should he donate his kidney and what could possibly be sinful about not doing it? Personally, I would hate to have someone else's kidney, heart, lungs, liver or anythig else. Jesus never said anything about giving organs to save someone's life.

Nowhere does my Bible say you can earn your way to Heaven through good works.
Unless those priests have declared Jesus as their ONLY salvation, they are both going to hell.
