you should take puppy out every two hours like clock work this gives you the best results. Basically if you slack off and not take it out every two hours the dog is going to slack off. so i suggest take it outside very often. i am aslo trying to train my 8 week old puppies and i have been doing well... theres time were i get lazy and don't let them out and well..... u get piss and **** everywhere. (my fault i know) you just have to be patient and always praise them when they go and go where you want to go. scold them(no don't spank or yell at them when they make a mistake)take them out when they need to go out. good luck on the training.

Do yourself a favor and get expert guidance before attempting to train a puppy. I learned the hard way after a very frustrating time trying to train my new puppy. Then I found a great ebook that was a tremendous help written by a dog training expert.

I have had many puppies. I have had many trained in a week.this is how i do it . 1 never yell at the pup they do not know better and yelling at them will make then hide and potty in the house. If they potty in the house pick them up and take them out side. 2 make sure after they eat or drink you take them out until they use the potty tell them they are good and treat if you want as they are pups I use their puppy food. And make a big deal about it when they use the potty out side they will catch on quickly.

Also with the outside trips, take them to places they've pottied before. Dogs find places they like to go, and for puppies, this is a helpful reminder. Even if you've "curbed your dog" and picked up after him/her, they still have places they prefer. Plus, sigh, patience. Think how difficult it is to potty train a human, and a puppy won't seem so bad at all!

Omg it took me a long time. ehh mayb 2-3 months. ok so wht my family did was cage training. (u eat and sleep in its cage and do ur business outside). ok so wen ur puppy p's inside, U either hit her with a newspaper, put her face in its p and say NO!, or hold the puppy by its neck. I learned none of these things will hurt the puppy. everytime my father would do tht to my little precious i would cry. but he's teaching her. i asked a vet and they said its not bad. im telling u it works. my dog is a pomeranian. i love her. and shes wild but we trained her ourselves. it was tough but hey we did it. The newspaper is goood and helps cuz they will get scred of it wen they do n e thing bad. Ok so if they do n e thing tht does not please u, pull out the news paper(rolled up) and hit ur puppy. Good Luck! :)

I'm a fan of crate-training. A simple google search should pull up lots of results.

Crate training is the only way that's worked for me. Dogs don't want to go to the bathroom where they sleep so they will learn to only use it when you let them out.

make sure you take them outside a lot - like every 15-30 mins to start with as they will learn that is what they do outside. have a cue word (potty, peepee, do your business, ect) and speak it as they potty so they will learn the word. praise, praise and more praise. scold when in the act of pottying inside, dont leave water out so you can control thier intake - after drinking - take outside about 10-15 mins after to potty
