I know that my county you cannot unless you want to get all the pro-illegal people mad at you and the illegals that are already here, It's sad day with a issue such as this that tearing this nation about we're cannot talk about it in public. If people do talk openly it , then you have fear of getting blacklisted by people, jobs etc just because you're against all of the goodies that the illegals are gonna get just for crossing border.

Is it like thoughout the country or not? I'm in Idaho a northern border state

Is discussing politics in public likely to get people's ire up? Yes, it's like that all throughout the country.

Blacklisted from what job?

Not sure what you are getting at. I live in Idaho too. We have free speech here....unless you are here illegally...is that what you are talking about? Because if that is so, the Immigration could pick you up anytime they want to.....and this is tearing our nation because our laws were not followed when this all began....

You would be surpised how many legal Mexican citizens we have that are very against illegal immigration because they followed the rules and entered the country legally.

And have you been watching the immigration bill. People stormed the Congress when they were going to "overlook" the illegal part....people were furious!

Who says we can't talk about it? I talk to people about it all the time...and it is pretty universal....Americans expect their laws to be obeyed. If you broke them....then you have no such thing as "security". That is the truth....because our laws can be followed whenever they decide to do it.

I live in the most democratic nation in the world, I can discuss any issue, and I do not have a problem, Americans are not very good at discussing, the reason is you are the most hypocrite society in the world, and you do not want to recognize the fact you need illegal workers, that is why you do not want to legalize them, because you serve the interests of big corporations if they are illegal, they do not exist, if they do not exist I do not have to pay well fare, health care and so on, lets stay the way we are, lets make a couple of fences to say we can keep them down, and lets run the border patrol, on broad day light, and lets turn the other cheek when it gets dark.

You seem to be a victim of your own doing. You elected the idiot, who is at the head of the once free nation and his sidekick who'd rather kill Americans to get more money. These people want absolute power and we all know; absolute power, absolutely corrupts. They influence the media, where most people get their wrong information.
While there is big talk about immigration reform, it comes down to controling people. They can't (as yet) controll illegals, but they are doing a fine job on you.
Open your eyes.

To me illegal means illegal. Whether you rob a bank or wade across a border illegally, it's still against the law....period.
