at 5'8, I'd go with a medium frame size. If given in inches, something that is 17" would be good.
With a mountain bike as a general rule of thumb, when you stand over it, you want about 3" of clearance. You want it to be small enough to be manouverable and stay out of the way, but still have a geometry that fits.

They only way to know is to go to a Bike Shop and get fitted. All bikes/manufacturers vary in size. First, find a bike that you like and have the shop fit you for it. Good Luck!

Go to a bike shop and get fitted. Fit is crucial to efficiency and comfort!!! Getting fit is usually free and the shop can then make suggestions about the best bike for you based on your body geometry. Fit is based on a LOT more than just height or weight.

Good luck!

for your height you would need somewhere between a 17.5" and a 20". 17.5" is recommended for someone up to 5"9 but bikes very depending on the set of the wheels angles of the frame tubes etc. The best idea is to go and give some a try. Good luck!!!! if you want exact measurments you cancheck out this site

You'll probably end up 17-18, but tube dimensions vary some with the manufacturer. A test ride is best to make sure.
